GARidgeRunner's Build

Looks good especially that frontal pic which shows the tires not sticking out several inches beyond the fenders.
Thats the TOYO tire that I’m going to try when my Generals wear out.
I hope they work out well for you.

Wow, very nice wright up and rig! My Truck is a 22 Atlas Blue too, so I really love what you are doing

Greatly appreciated! Never pictured myself owning a blue vehicle but this Atlas color has really won me over.

Pulled part of the back seat and began working on a mockup for a fridge and power bank platform. The goal is to maximize the footprint while keeping center of gravity as low as possible. Cardboard and scrap furrings make quick work to visualize the idea.

After performing an oil change and seeing the lack of protection on the underside, I went ahead and installed the RCI back half engine skid plate and transmission skid plate. Install was a breeze and feel much better about taking it off road.

Also cut the Weathertech bed mat down to size to allow access to the side bins in the Decked.

Up next will likely be sliders. Seems like our options are pretty limited based on initial searches between RCI, WKO, Rocky-Road. After having both RCI and WKO on previous vehicles, WKO seems to be the best option at the moment.
Is the RCI Skid Plate kit you installed specific to the Tremor with the Factory front skid, or did you just not install the RCI front piece?

Thanks

The kit I purchased only included the back half of the engine and transmission skid plate. I purchased it through Halo Lifts. Very happy with fitment and it’s holding up to quite a lot of abuse thus far.

Did a quick inspection after trail riding and noticed the switch to a wider tire resulted in some very minor rubbing on the rear crash bars. Broke the two 15mm bolts loose and used a pry bar to create about a 1/4" of space. Gotta get back out and see if this is enough to completely eliminate the rubbing.

White Knuckle Off Road sliders installed today. 4 coats of primer, 2 coats of engine enamel followed by 2 coats of Rust-oleum truck bed liner. Very happy with the end result.

Added some 1/4” fuel line to the brake lines that run across the front mount on the driver side.

Do they stick out far enough to serve as a step?
They do. With the door open they allow plenty of space to get a good footing.

I’m looking at the RCI ones, as I already have everything else of theirs.

How much do these weigh aprox?
RCI makes excellent products. I opted for the .118 DOM option and these weighed 286lbs on my scale at home.

What's the delta with the OEM?

What's the delta with the OEM?
I typically weigh every component whether it’s going on or coming off but this go around the OEM bars sold so fast I didn’t have time to weigh them. The buyer was in the driveway as I was pulling them off. Google shows 80lbs a side but I’d be hard pressed to believe that as they felt light.

Least they went quick lol. Yup, couple things I've found sounded off figured it was worth a shot. Helps though, thanks.

Been pretty busy trying to identify where a pop was coming from that developed from the rear leaf pack. Turns out the top spring separates and shifts when the suspension droops then makes a violent pop as the suspension cycles. I molded some kydex to fit around the pack retainer to try and keep the leafs tighter and more in line with one another. After realigning the leafs and retorquing all the hardware the popping has dissipated.

Also, after putting 4k miles on the Icon S4 suspension the harshness and abrupt feedback from the road has lessened making the ride much more enjoyable. I was genuinely worried about this as it was to the point where the road feedback was so bad it could be felt through the floor board on several occasions.

Glad you were able to come up with a solution. Did Icon customer service ever respond to you? One thing to respond and say that they unfortunately can't do anything and another thing to just not respond. I'm headed to Moab next week. May stop at a place on the way that does custom spring packs to see what they say and what the price is. That or I'll just run a bigger block in the rear to get some lift back and run RAS when I'm really loaded up.

An excellent build thread and great job with the clear pictures along the way. Very helpful for comparisons as load in my truck increases!!!...thanks!
