Gas tank size...?

So had to do my first fill up on the truck, which per my window sticker is the extended 36 gallon tank. I had 9 miles of range left and was only able to fit 31.45 gallons.. I feel like I should have been able to pump more into that tank. I know its not the standard tank size, but has any one else noticed that there tank doesn't seem to be an actual 36 gallon tank, or my fuel gauge-level isn't correct at all ( I started the truck on a level surface)

its the same with the bigger trucks as well. My 2017 F350 has a 5gal reserve. I usually go 20-30 miles past 0 miles. I'm thinking its the same with my 23 tremor.

Dealer filled tank with 85 when I took delivery,, puft..
Mine did the same, I tried to explain how having 93 in the tank for a test ride would be better, he was obvious.

I took the salesman on the test drive and he paid while I filled the truck with 93 octane, he couldn't figure out why the bill was so high 😁

Lol I posted that about an hour ago, however keep in mind if you're on an incline that won't be the case, just ask @Yeti who was saved by his better half.

Lol I'm one of those people that fill up before I get to even a half a tank. Unless I'm on a long trip. Can't be stopping several times like that.

Just watched this video and can confirm his results. I just drove my truck 1700 miles and at 1 point I got about 20 miles past 0. It took almost 33 gallons to fill up. I honestly thought it wouldn’t take that much based off the original video he referenced.

Lol, I would have been happy to get to 50 miles remaining when I ran out of gas in my back yard. I had 6 gallons left but the natural rake of the truck and the fact I was coming down hill combined for disappointment

I hate the reserve. Zero should be zero universally so we know and don't have to guess. I'd rather my range show another 50+ miles when I fill up.

Hell ya have to do that or you're pumping twice with most gas station's spending cap

Filled up last week. Had 69 miles left on computer, took almost 32 gals. I"m consistently getting 17.8 MPG with 2K miles on the truck so far.

I haven't let mine get very low yet but maybe one of these days I'll see. But I'm at 1,700 miles and only at 15.5 mpg. I was gaining .1 mpg per day almost after leaving the lot, but I've been at 15.5 this entire week. Mostly rural driving though.

Edit: FWIW, I usually got 18-19 mpg on my 18' Lariat with the same 3.5 ecoboost but I think the tremors are maybe rated a little lower for city mpg, if I remember correctly.
