What's new

I spoke with Filthy Motorsports today.

Really hard to say. Ford isn't keen on accuracy and if their communication with the public is any indication, they may communicate just as poorly internally, too.
I read through the suspension deep dive I posted the other day and I wonder if maybe they are different by just a few tenths of an inch, he talks about the standard f150 UCA being a few tenths longer than the 2020 model or if Ford changed it for the whole 2021 model year and just made the announcement on the Tremor. Because the standard 2021 is different from the 2020 model, if it's just tenths of inch it might not be able to be seen just from looking at. Just some thoughts.

Ford still says that we're special for their 2022 update

It looks like the Tremor does measure about 1" higher in the front and 2" higher in the rear than FX4 packages. At least based on what is posted on the forums.\

But the Tremor has about a 1" bigger tire than the FX4 so that's .5" of the difference right there.
Regarding wheel size, it depends if you are looking at an FX4 with the 20” wheels as they 33’s also, basically same OD as Tremor

Looking at the ICON 0-2.75" coil over struts for my pretend truck. They say their strut only provides 0-1.25" of lift over stock on the Tremor. If you are only changing out the strut. The small lift has to be in the strut. If people are adding a 2.5" puck lift with zero impacts to ride and drivability there has to be something in the UCA's, lower control arm or something.

That's kind of goes back to how you're going to use your truck. If you're adding a 1.25" spacer on top of your strut, you're lengthening the strut but you're not lengthening the amount of travel your lower control arm is set for. So, you loosen your LCA (and UCA) then tighten them at your new ride height.

All is good... until the point that you want to reach full droop (for big holes or steep drops off road and even higher speed Raptor stuff) the LCA has a maximum limit that's retained to keep the drive shaft and other bushings from wearing out prematurely. So if you use a puck and you're only using it for small motions (street, decent dirt roads, beaches, etc.) they you'll be fine and way ahead of the game with a puck. If you're looking to treat this like a raptor or feel the need to climb healthy rocks or really use the up/down motion of your suspension, Icon is the only current manufacturer that has something usable, that I'm aware of. If I remember, they're using the UCA to mitigate the LCA angle limitation. Honestly, if they had a solid 1.75" lift after it settled and maintained or increased the length of downward travel, I would probably be running them, now.

That all said, there are far smarter people than me that make this stuff.

How's everything going with the setup your trying right now, or have you not had time to mess with it anymore?

So if I wanted to level the truck, but still retain full articulation and use, this would be the way to go?

Having put fox 2.0s in a 2021 XLT-FX4 and 2021 tremor now, I could not find any difference other than the strut’s part number and the tremor decals. I did not have both trucks at the same time to directly compare/measure everything but visually there was no difference and the 2.0s fit and ride great on both trucks (after breaking them in, Fox stuff is really stiff for a couple hundred miles when new)View attachment 1916

I also wanted to ask this question?

Yeah, I went through a few different set-ups. the current Eibach wasn't a good fit. I liked the springs a lot but the dampening seemed too light than stock and since I'm not much of a fast across washboards guy, they are heading back, this coming weekend.

Overall, I got ~ 1.5" lift but the springs were way too compressed and the same droop. I dropped them down to 1/2 inch lift and that's where it is sitting until I can work on it this weekend.

Well even fast washboards would have caused them to pack up, so it doesn't sound like it would work in any regards, unless pretty much highway, street only. Have you ever had any dealings with mammoth 4x4?

Now what we need to know is stock CV angles and 2.5 lifted angles. A good kit like the BDS drops everything and they have one of the lowest angles in the business. Could we put a set of Icons on at the tallest setting and add a spacer to get it level and still have good off road performance, CV angles and droop?

I have only heard about them but no opinion one way or the other. My thought it a reputable shop is going to have the tools to do a good job.

All questions we want answered.

Ultimately, it's all angles, motion and position. I did have a though about going with a mid travel (I forget who it was) and calling it done. If I can remember who's mid-travel it was, I'll post it here. My thought is that if a company has the skills to create an entire new suspension for an F150, it also has the skills to do what we're looking for (hopefully cheaper)

Most definitely, I think I might swing by rpm off-road ok me day and see what their thoughts are, they compete in Baja and King of the Hammers, so they may have an idea to get what I want, the question will be the cost.
