Leveling Kit

Popping in here just to give more photos and input for those of you that are still waiting and want more info! I got the level done by my local Ford dealership, a friend of mine used to be a lead technician and now does the custom stuff over there and he messed with it all day to get it level. Started with the 2.5" Motofab spacers up front, still had 1.25" rake. Don't have a photo of that but I told him I wanted 1" or less so he went on to the next. Removed the stock rear blocks and tried Autospring 2" and still had 1" rake. Then went with the stock FX4 block (1.5") and its almost perfectly level, less than 1/4" rake. Personally don't like the rake and I don't tow a lot but when I do it's over 6-8k lbs (camper, or CanAm) which would make anything squat that sits level without bags, but I like the stability/stiffness in the rear with airbags. So again not perfectly level but he said it may affect ride quality if I did a 3" spacer and I didn't want that. I threw my CanAm trailer on it after (not loaded) and it dropped it 1/4" which shows how soft the suspension is in the rear.

First 5 photos are the first day I had the truck (yesterday). The rest are today after the level, I couldn't wait. Funny how many people complimented on the truck but commented on the insane rake! Let me know if you want to see any other angles.

Super happy with it. Traded in an F250 Powerstroke for this because I really didn't need a diesel and they were offering me a lot for it. Not planning to do anything crazy besides ceramic coating, 3M clear bra and window tint. Eventually get rid of the running boards, not a fan of them. I really liked the ones on my F250 Platinum (power running boards) so might go with the AMP power running boards eventually. Wheels will likely happen but I like these, just not wide enough. I will definitely get some wider tires if I find a good deal.

Cheers y'all
Looks badass! Congrats on a sharp truck. I am still waiting for mine. Shows to be in transit, and the dealer said it should be here later this week, or the first of next week. Already have an appointment to get ceramic tint on the windows and will get it leveled after I take possession. Just seems that ford would want to get the trucks to us quicker. It has been 5 months already.

Somewhere in this thread, I think, was some commentary on installing a spacer lift and doing it "using the bottom up method" or "from the bottom" instead of taking apart all the stuff (upper control arm? ball joint?) at the top and then having trouble aligning it later and so on. I can't find that obscure post now. Does anyone have a favorite youtube video or step by step on what has been determined to be the BEST way to install one of these? (I have the 2" autospring kit to install and plan on doing it myself and then going to the alignment shop).

Stock struts? It's a PITA. You'll need to at least loosen the lower control arms on each side. Also, I remove the axle nut and CAREFULLY separate the spindle, caliper, etc. From the axle making sure not to pull the axle shaft out

Yeah, stock struts (still optimistic someone will come out with a product we generally agree is acceptable for a front strut kit).
Found this on YouTube - maybe this is my answer (not tremor-specific but…):

What size spacer are people using? I keep going back between 2 or 2.5 ,I only tow a snowmobile trailer in the winter and want the level but don't want it to sag to much.

If you don’t want to change out anything in the rear I would get the 2”.

Same here, towing a 2 place snowmobile trailer and not to much off roading. After reading all the info, i’m thinking the 2” puck or the Fox 2.0. The truck is probably at least a month away and I could possibly go a different direction by then.

I initially installed the AS 2.0 kit, but removed it and installed the AS 1.5 kit to better handle the squat from my 20ft boat. It now sits level when towing 👌

This is what I’m referring to. It actually squats with coolers and gear in the boat. The rear Tremor springs are softer than most people realize. AS 1.5 kit:

If your trailer is properly balanced (i.e. not too front heavy), most of the squat can be remedied with an adjustable height trailer hitch.

No weight in the bow of the boat and coolers and drinks loaded in the back (properly balanced). Trailer jack had to be all the way up to get it on the hitch. The truck just squatted when lowered. Just wanting to inform. Air bags would solve this.

EDIT/FYI: We’ve pulled this boat with a 2016 and a 2020 Expedition for 5 years the Expedition doesn’t squat like this. Again, just trying to inform. Love the Tremor, but I think we know why they come with so much rake.

The reason they come with this much rake is because the suspension is soft and supple made for off road purposes. Just got back from Big Bear with my son and we did some off roading and it was buttery smooth, my son said it’s like a roller coaster floating around…….

I agree, however still looks like garbage. Wishing it would sit more like the trail boss off the lot.

The trail Boss can't do half the stuff this truck can, I have seen that first hand, it is way to stiff and has little articulation, compared to our truck.

Read through most of the 54 pages here- general question:

Is there a consensus on the “best “ brand of level to go with? The one that has least impact to ride quality (paved roads) and least impact to mpg? Assuming stock everything else.

Basically which one to go with for pavement princess trucks.

I would say AS 1.5 or 2.0. It leaves just enough rake to help with mpg and will make it level if you tow. You can go to the 2.5 if you want, just know that the higher the front the less mpg you will get. Now will it change it a lot, no but it will change it.

If you want coilovers then RC or Eibach, those cost more and aren't necessary for pavement.

Eibach Lift Springs and Shocks (front) installed. When the truck was new it had around 4” of rake. After 12,000 miles it has settled to about 3 1/4” of rake. As it sits right now there is barely 1/4” of rake, maybe 3/16”. My understanding was the springs and shocks were adjustable to give you up to 2.7” of front lift. As it actually turns out, on the very lowest setting in the shocks you get every bit of 2.7”. Needles to say I’m a little disappointed. I was shooting for 2 - 2 1/4” of lift in the front to leave me with 1” or so of rake to count for towing and hauling stuff in the bed. Honestly when you see it in person you’d almost swear that it’s nose high but I’ve put the tape to it and it says it’s not. I can say this, there’s definitely more noticeable wind drag and it’s more stiff than the stock suspension. I honestly am not sure if I’ll keep it on or not. I’m hoping that the front end will settle????? Or maybe someone will actually release some made for Tremor rear shocks that I can get a little lift back in the rear out of. Anyways, thought I’d share for those interested in the Eibach.
You could always add a rear lift block in the back. AS and Eibach make some as well as a bunch of others. Would that solve your problem?

I just bagged mine, even my 16' F-150 would squat with the boat at only 500 lbs. tongue weight. I bet you are between 500-700 with that set up. Adding the bags made towing so much better with the boat on all vehicles I have owned. My Expy I added the sumo spring spacer and the Hellwig sway bar and it was a towing beast. We don't boat local very often, we go to Mead the most, but its dried up so haven't taken the Tremor on a long trip with the boat yet. Maybe get Powell, Bear Lake or Flaming George later in the year.

Front lift height also depends on your personal comfort with CV angles - the higher the lift, the steeper the CV angles. Some suggest - and I tend to believe - that the steeper the CV angle the more likely you are to experience accelerated or premature wear of the boot, the joint, or both.
No I don't know what is too much. No I don't know what is the 'sweet spot' or just right. I'm in the 2-inch fan boy crowd based on my personal preferences.
