Livernois - Who's tuned / Experience

Any of you guys install the new tune update yet? @Cblaxx19 sent me this today about an update to 125hp instead of 65hp. I'm about to reset to stock to go in for service (just caution until 36k, though last time I didn't have time to go to stock and they didn't say a word), but when I get it back I'm thinking I'm going to say fk it and send the new 125 tune.
WTF, so you’re saying the original tune was 65hp and now Livernois has an update that takes the tune form 65hp to 125HP :), that would be sick!

I had them send me the updated tunes, it’s the same HP/TQ as before. They just updated the HP/TQ numbers online per my conversations with them. They did say that they have made slight changes to the transmission shifting but that’s it.
I’m running the performance 91-93 right now. Didn’t notice anything changing much here. I did have an issue trying to revert back to stock. That’s why I got them to send me the updates and get my stock tune reloaded.

I jumped right on their site and it shows 125HP and 125TQ, the tune hauls ass and I never thought it was only 65hp. I can’t imagine its any faster, probably just minor transmission fine tuning, I’m happy as it is.

Just got the updated tune, but haven’t installed it yet, it’ll be about another 4 days for me unfortunately. Let me know how it is!

Edit: read the replies, looks like not a lot has changed, I was wondering they’d make it faster! I’ll find out in a few days I guess

From my brief discussion with them, the 65hp is what the HO 3.5 in the raptor gets, the standard 3.5 gets 125. So I guess they were just advertising the raptor increase originally.

Got it, is the Raptor engine the same as ours just slightly tweaked from the factory so the end result of a Livernois tune should be similar performance?

that has been my understanding. the raptor just had a tune from the factory to give it 50 more HP.

Ooooooooo I know what I'm doing when I get off work

1. Performance, on 93 strictly. The tune works with 91 afaik, likely less power. Also downloaded the tow tune in case I need it. Specifically says don't tow with performance tune.
2. Negative, but I haven't lost a race yet lol. So far two chargers, a challenger, and some other random non notables on the highway in the graveyard. Been looking for a raptor to try but those guys never wanna race for whatever reason... Idk. Haven't bothered with any 6.2 trucks because the stock Ecoboost beats those anyways.
3. I didn't really hate the transmission before like some people do, but I can agree it was clunky at times. After the tune, it's butter. Zero complaints, pick up from any speed is on point. No delays, smooth shift up and down.
4. Great, love it. Power instantly when you want it, normal driving when you don't. Better mpg, and all around just a better drive. I have the mishimoto intercooler, turbo smart BOV, and roush intake- they all add in and benefit the tune, especially the intercooler imo.

Very easy to install, very fast response time to get your tune once you send your stock file in, support was available and straight forward/down to earth. The initial instructions are a little overwhelming and not super well organized imo, like it doesn't tell you first before anything to update the tuner on your computer - which i didn't and couldn't figure out why I couldn't save my stock tune until I called. After that the instructions are good.

I'm on a trip to NC right now from Miami, has performed great. Highway has been great, off-road great, have noticed zero downsides. I assume down the road some more maintenance on the turbos but afaik these motors are super undertones. The raptor motor is the same motor just tuner higher/higher output spec, this is basically a raptor in a box.
Thanks Cranbery and everyone else on this thread that sold me on this Livernois Tune.. Just got the My Calibrator today. Did everything and sent up the Tune request. 92 octane is the highest octane available here in Honolulu at the pump. They said about a -2% decrease of the +125 HP. I'll post again on the results.

I will tell you after having the tune for 3 months it is fantastic. The power is so linear and can be furious when you punch it. I chirp my 35's around 40 mph. It really is a kick ass tune! I only run 93, I can tell you 93 makes a significant difference over running 87.

I already got my Tune today via email. That was fast. Weather is crap right now but will try to install later. I'll give an update.

On another note, anyone know if the Cobb Air intakes fits the 2021's 3.5? I was on the fence about adding one but with the Tune, have a change of heart now. I did speak to them and on their website, it shows 2017-2020. The guy at Cobb couldn't confirm if it did or not due to ours being a new generation even though it has the same 3.5 V6. He said they are waiting on the 50 state CARB legal stuff, then releasing for the newer model years. That being said I don't know if that just means they will change their website from 2017-2020 to 2017-2023 cause it will be the exact same part. :ROFLMAO:. I know with the newer generation companies can do things to the engine bay that will cause part fitment issues even though it is pretty much the same engine.

Is the tuner “plug n play” or do you need a computer or any other kit to do it?
Yes if you have a PC. Livernois gives you everything you need for the Tune except a PC. All the cables for the Tuner to connect to both PC and truck is included. *I pasted restrictions below from their website.
*Windows PC required for tuner updates, MAC / Apple OS not supported*

You make the Purchase online or other means. They send you the Tuner (My Calibrator). Download the My Calibrator software off their website to your PC. Connect the Tuner (My Calibrator) to your PC to register and update. Take Tuner to your truck to download your stock files via OBD connector and may also have to go under your hood and connect the OBD there also. Again, they provide all the cables for this including the OBD. The Tuner will prompt you. Upload your stock files when connecting Tuner back to PC with the software. I believe it automatically uploads your stock files and sends to Livernois via your PC. Fill out the requested Tune form via their website.

They email a confirmation after the request form has been submitted. For my case they sent me the Tune in a day. I connected the Tuner back to PC and it automatically uploaded the Tune once I opened the software. Now I am supposed to take the Tuner and connect back to the Truck to upload the tune and I should be good. I haven't completed this step yet but will soon. . They gave me 2 different Tunes. 87-93 Performance / Tow & 91-93 Octane premium Performance Tune. I will probably run the latter. I only use 92 octane here so that is my best bet but if and when I tow, I will switch over to Tow tune. Sorry went a little deep and detailed but just in case if anyone else was curious.

Awesome & thank you for the details! I only have a work windows PC, so looks like I will be buying a laptop so I can do this & dabble in the Forscan mods. The double honk is driving me crazy

I hear ya on the honk. I have the PC and necessary cable for Forscan but if you don't close the door all the way the truck won't honk. TBH I would rather it beep twice like my wife's Aviator, anyone have that coding?

Uploaded my Tune a couple days. Got a little stuck on it. Figured out I didn't prompt one more step from the inside ECU setup to the outside ECU. All good after that.

I am very happy with the Tune. Running the 91-93 octane Premium Performance Tune. Tested it out enough. You can definitely feel the difference. I tested on both ECO and SPORT Mode. I usually run on ECO in general. I am not sure if it really helps the MPG but I feel like it can't hurt it . In SPORT mode punched it at maybe 40 mph and the tires broke lose. Still running my stock rim and tires. Truck really moves. In ECO mode it does feel more responsive. I am not sure how much power it has now with the 92 octane fuel but Ya, the Truck is definitely faster. I also noticed the Boost holds a little longer close to the 20 psi on our boost gauge when punching it compared to tapering off a little. I don't know what our stock Boost is on the 3.5 EcoBoost or if now it is exceeding the 20 psi. The Ford internal boost gauge only goes up to 20 psi. I know Livernois tweaks all kinds of things to maximize the engine in a good way. I am curious how much Boost the truck now runs and if they changed anything there. I may call them up to get more info on the Boost, ballpark HP and TQ figures on the 92 octane. I plan on adding aftermarket Air intake later. They said there is no need to update or tweak the Tune due to the way the F-150 intake system is where it will learn with the increase in Air. I am not sure if the Tune also adjusted the Transmission, but it does feel like it shifts better. It didn't really bother me before, but the shifting does feel smoother. I will also monitor the MPG to see if there is improvement or not.

I think if memory serves me correctly 17psi for factory boost, and I think they(livernois) take it above 20 to around 25 or so.

Yo!! New to all the tuning. Thinking about purchasing the Livirnois for my 2023 tremor. It said on the page not available in California. Can anyone help?

Yep, move out of California. :]

Love a lot of things about Cali but having aftermarket mods there isn't easy.
