What's new

My FP700 Supercharger is installed!

So, I just bought me one of the Dragy “GPS based performance meters”. I thought it’d be neat to see measured results of the supercharger install besides just the obvious seat of the pants. The overwhelming majority of online tests with this device as well as magazine tests, center around installation on the lightweight F150 RCSB trucks, while with Tremors we’re some of the heaviest. But I’m happy to say that I’m now nearly 2 secs faster from 0-60 and in the 1/4 mile as well, with mid 4 sec and high 12 sec times respectively,….thus far. I AM going with a new mid-section Borla exhaust, but that’s as far as I’ll take it with this truck in terms of performance upgrades, as I’m plenty happy and satisfied.

What DA and what was your altitude? Screen shot of the run otherwise leads to speculation.

Speculation 😳? Understood, as I guess I need a few hundred more posts to build up some site credibility. Actually, unfamiliarity with the Dragy device and website kept me from getting the screen shots I wanted/needed, but I just now dug in a little deeper. At first I just had the screen shot shortly after the run and it failed to capture everything initially shown. But I just now learned how to completely navigate my history on the app. Also, I wasn’t running a marked off 1/4 and just immediately pulled off the throttle when I hit approximately 100 as I had unanticipated oncoming traffic, albeit on a back road. So looking at the 1/4 mi trap speed, which is significantly less than my 1000’ speed, I apparently left a bit on the table, in terms of 1/4 ET and mph. But I’ll be back at it soon. The altitude and DA are both shown.

Anytime performance numbers are discussed with Dragy I am accustomed to others posting screenshot to support. That of course was in other forums with a different platform. I am looking forward to seeing your complete 1/4 mile run, thanks for sharing.

@ReidPfromNC I live in Charlotte would love to hear the what dealer you used and your experience with them. I am looking to buy new and have a dealer install FP700 package.

Does this package come with exterior graphics as well?

I purchased the option for the supercharger only. There are two higher priced options that include 22” wheels (no tires), rear leveling kit, and the body graphic kits as well as several other items I believe. They are called the Black and Bronze kits IIRC.

So I was back at it again before Christmas and found an opportune time with near perfect conditions to let her rip late one evening. Dry 30° air helps along with just me in the truck compared to a 190 lb passenger on my initial outing. I also definitely found out that the factory warranted tune does indeed still limit the truck to 105 mph, and I definitely went the entire 1/4 mile but very little more. I guess those of you that have tested the 105 governor saw how the throttle instantly pulls back like reaching a preset cruise control setting. I’m not exactly sure how soon before the 1/4 mile I hit 105, but I did only pick up 2.38 mph over that last 320’, whereas several other apparently non-governed 5.0 SC trucks I’ve seen screen shots from were picking up ~8 mph over that 1000’-1320’ distance. Needless to say I’m very happy, as I’m still running my stock exhaust, but still anticipating the Borla S-Type mid-section addition. I should note that my 4.16 sec 0-60 was stamped invalid on a separate screen shot as there was slightly too much elevation decline, but the overall 1/4 ended up with an ever so slight incline as shown and was thus valid.

I also found the opportunity to go across some scales at a recycling yard as the pic illustrates at 5760 lbs. I then unloaded everything I had in the truck, and weighed it, including my 162 lb self, and came up with 5399 lbs. What I can’t recall however is what I subtracted for fuel to get to the 5399, but I figured that with having the added weight of the supercharger and ProPower Onboard, that 5400 might be about accurate for the bare truck.

Thanks for all the responses. I've only had my Tremor for two days, but other than in town, the mpg's I'm hearing are not different from what I've experienced so far. The initial response from ReidfromNC was very helpful as were the responses from folks that have been driving with the install for a while.
