Navigation

I'm in Canada and my trial subscription is over. All I have is the map, the moment you try to input an address it says subscription required. I just use apple car play for navigation.

Guys I hate to say this but every manufacturer is doing this, some charge just to have heated seats, etc. It's the way things are changing, everything has a cost anymore, pretty soon you'll be paying a subscription for Facebook if things continue the way they are. (I know that's extreme just trying to make the point that paying for a navigation isn't as bad as some)

$70,000 truck and you have to pay to use built in navigation. Pretty sad
What's even worse if you pay the $2,000 for the Blue Cruise 2.0 assisted driving hardware to be in your truck, after the 3 years of included custom, you need to pay $80 per year to continue utilizing the hardware you opted into. Blue cruise self driving requires the nav subscription to work.

Not that I agree with it, but I assume Ford is paying Waze/Google to buy their traffic/map data and use it in the NAV system. So that’s why yearly updates cost $80. It’s free on your phone because google tracks everything you do and sells it to advertisers/the government.

Lame for sure but I doubt Ford is even capable of creating/updating their own maps.

Now subscriptions for heated seats/remote access to your vehicle that require no updates..... yea that should be illegal full stop.

I assume Ford is paying Waze/Google to buy their traffic/map data and use it in the NAV system.

This is the case, relayed by Jesse of infotainement.com. From my own job, I know that Google charges A LOT* for this data, and as recently as last year tripled their fees. Every time you scroll around or put in a new address, it costs Ford money.

Also, the Nav would be useless without the live traffic info or live road conditions/closures.

*fractional pennies, but more fractional pennies than smaller names.
