Putco Emblem

Question for those of who who removed the stock grill emblem.

Does the stock emblem separate into pieces? Meaning will the white ring and ford lettering come apart from the gloss black border?

I was thinking about painting the ring and ford lettering. It would be a lot easier if it came apart.

Just installed - grill emblem comes off in one piece.

Member MD FLIP stated that he believed the Putco one was brighter in his thread

Just received mine from Ford and can confirm that the emblem is substantially brighter when the two ends of the green wire are reattached.

I mean I get it this group is interested in or already owns the emblem, have any of you thought after installing it that’s just a little to “extra”? I think I’d like it, but that’s just in the back of my mind.

With the orange lightbars Cblaxx made for the 21-23, it sort of fits - in fact looks like it is missing for folks (like me) who don't have it. I don't think it's too blingy, but to each their own.

Put my hands through the grille, in between the grille and the shutters. 1/4" ratchet to take the screws off the back, you can disconnect everything if you're carefull.

I did the wiring harness and ran the wire up to the top off the grille, ran it to the driver side headlight underneath the top there a few spots where you can feed wire though.

Just did this method this morning............worked perfectly. It's a tight fit but way better than removing the grill. Thanks for the tip!!!!!!

I bought one and then had the same thought, especially with the F150 LEDs marker kit and eventually I am going to install an M&R lighter, I thought it would be just too much. Ended up returning it. I think if it was the only aftermarket light added it may look good.

Yep. Fine line between tasteful upgrade and "too much rice going on"
