Harnesses and Deutsch Connectors arrived. Just waiting on the diodes and I'll be ready to tackle this.

And of course, within 24 hours of ordering these I get an email from DigiKey saying my original order has shipped. Well, I guess I'll have an extra set in case something goes wrong.... :ROFLMAO:

Can't return the expensive ones?

Got the Starkey harnesses modified, but still waiting on some techflex to clean it up. Diodes just arrived tonight so I think I have everything I need to make the swap!

Well, I did the swap this morning and something isn't right. When I first plugged in the headlights I opened and closed the door just to make sure they were working, and they were, the DRLs lit up just like the OEM Tremor headlights. Then I went in and made the Forscan changes and the DRLs stopped working as either DRL or Turn. The light is on but super faint. I changed the configuration back to the stock config and that didn't fix the problem. I followed the wiring diagram to modify the harness so I'm not really sure what happened since I wired my grille lights into the Starkey DRL and they are working.

So, there is some voodoo craziness happening now. I walked back out to the garage after letting the truck sit for 10-15 minutes, opened and closed the door, and the DRLs lit up again. ????????????????

Ghost in the machine.

Ghost in the machine.
UPDATE!!! It appears that it was less "Ghost in the machine" and more "Dummy modifying some Starkey harnesses"! :ROFLMAO: Luckily I had a backup set of Starkey harnesses that I had already spliced into the wiring instead of de-pinning and re-pinning like I did on the second set. Swapped out the harnesses this morning and BOOM, fully functional Raptor headlights! I will try and get a video to share in the next couple of days. Once I'm mentally recovered from this ordeal I will investigate where I went wrong with the de-pinned and re-pinned harnesses and correct those so I will have a backup, or a set to sell if anyone else decides to do this. Now, on to list the OEM Tremor Adaptive LEDs for sale in the classifieds!

Congrats on getting it figured out.
I think you should celebrate with a couple of cold ones.😁
You shouldn’t have a problem selling those headlights but I hope potential buyers know that they’re not simply plug and play.

Thanks man! Yeah there's a smoked old-fashioned calling my name tonight! HUGE thanks to @beo_tom for really helping me with this and encouraging me when I was getting to the point of wanting to throw in the towel. Between him and all those gents on the other forum thread I managed to get it done, and I am super grateful.

Proud of you big dawg for sticking it out! Truck looks great OEM++

You've pointed out a few things that I can tweak in the thread as updates.

Thanks man. You kept me motivated to see it through.

So, after it's all said and done my net cost for this swap ended up being $400, and $160 of that was just the Starkey harnesses. Pretty happy with that.

Well, update to the update. Apparently it wasn't the "Dummy modifying some Starkey harnesses" after all, it was the diodes I got from DigiKey. I pulled the driver side harness I spliced together out this morning and plugged in the cleaner de-pinned and re-pinned harness since the spliced harness appeared to be giving me some trouble on the driver side. As a test I left the DigiKey diode in the pinned harness and tried it, and it had the same issues I described above. Pulled the diode I got from Waytek out of the spliced harness and popped it in the pinned harness and everything functions as normal, so the pinned harness ultimately was not the culprit of my issues when I first did the swap, it was those DigiKey diodes. I don't know if I got a Monday or Friday batch, or if they changed something internally, but they definitely do not work. Waytek diodes for the win!

Those better work for 40 bucks a pop!

I had the same expectation of the ones from DigiKey since they're only about $3.00 cheaper! When I get around to swapping out the passenger side I will try the other DigiKey diode to see if maybe just one was bad. If they both end up being bad then I would say it's likely a batch issue.

Anyone interested in doing the Raptor headlight swap I have 2 Starkey harnesses that I would let go for $100 for the set. One of them has been de-pinned and re-pinned, and the other one I spliced the wiring so it will need to be corrected to the de-pin/re-pin way. I had the spliced one in the driver side of the truck and it started acting wonky (likely an issue with one of the splices) so I swapped it out with one of the de-pin/re-pin ones I built. I just never got around to swapping out the passenger side spliced harness before I sold the Tremor. In all reality, it's probably less than an hour of work to just de-pin the spliced wires and re-pin it in the same configuration with fresh, unspliced wires, I just don't feel like investing the time to do it.
