RCI Rocksliders (Installed)

Found a used set today for super cheap so picked them up today. A few rust spots but I'll hit them with a wire wheel on the drill and find some paint that matches and touch them up (I've used Rust-Oleum satin on previous sliders so I'll see if that is close enough to matching). Damn these things are heavy!

Honestly they feel heavy but if you compare them to the OEM boards (40lbs / side) and how much you add to the GVW it’s less than 1%. I think they are 70-75lbs per side, so you’re only adding 70-80lbs.

So my used set I bought may not work... These came from a 2019 raptor, but looks like maybe they are an earlier version? My truck is missing 3 of the holes that are used for mounting so I'm a bit nervous to use them. I sent an email to the RCI guys, waiting to here back from them.

I think I know the answer to this and I hope I’m wrong but, any chance that you can return them?

Probably not. It was a Facebook marketplace buy. I got them cheap enough I could easily make my money back ( and them some maybe) selling them now that I've sanded and painted them.

Heard back from RCI. They said I can drill and tap the three missing holes in my frame and all should be good to mount these older version of their sliders. So I did. Got the driver's side installed today. The sliders sit about an inch higher than the stock steps so you gain a bit of clearance. They are also tucked in roughly an inch more.

Great work! Looks good. I like them a lot. You can’t feel them on the truck either, you’re only adding about 70lbs

Glad to hear that RCI had a solution for you and that you got them installed. 😎

Just noticed the logo projection at night with the sliders haha. It's the little things!

Sweet.
Would’ve been even sweeter if it said FORD or TREMOR but, that would have opened up a crazy can of legal worms for RCI.
I wouldn’t be surprised if FPP started to offer a rock slider for the TREMOR / F150.

FPP would charge $4K and the blood of your first born for "Ford" sliders.
