Spare Tire

Just curious how many added the TPMS to the spare and do a 5 tire rotation? I do it just did not know if it was unusual, someone looked at me like I was crazy when I told them I did this.
How does the sensor in the spare tire work when you rotate, does it just figure it out?

I do. I rotate them myself so it makes it a bit easier without a lift.

The positions need to be re-learned when rotated; I found out the hard way when it kept reading my tire in the spare position and confusing the heck out of me. There is a cheap Motorcraft Transmitter (TPMS19, $12 or so) that makes it easy to calibrate the positions.

Mine had a TPMS sensor but was not balanced.
Your spare came with a TMPS already installed? How did you determine this? Did you install it and run it and your dash started showing the psi, or open it up to install a sensor?

Thinking there was none, I asked the dealer to install one so I could do 5 tire rotation and they told me it was already there.

Wait, the truck doesnt automatically figure all of this out on its own? The previous gen F150s did

Mine didn't, I'll have to verify when I rotate again in a few months - maybe it was because there was a new sensor in the mix.

All of my other cars have/do automatically figure out the locations, so it was a bit surprising to me.

Maybe it was rotating the spare in. I just rotated mine without the spare and it automatically learned the new positions

My spare wheel has a sticker that says no TPMS on it. I am surpised your spare came with TPMS, maybe your dealer is super nice or, its part of some package maybe?

I have a set of 5 nito ridge grapplers at 35x12.50R20LTs on Brink 20x9 +0 rims and it fits just fine in the spare location. There may be room to fit 37s but it would be tight and would be real close to the exhaust.
on which truck do you have the 35x12.50? the 2022?
