Thoughts on PPF? Worth it?

Ok, here are the pics of the finished product in the early morning light. The PPF is completely invisible obviously but the shine is incredible for both the PPF and the ceramic coat. I am over the moon on how good it turned out. I also have some decal work to show off.
She looks amazing! I really love how those tailgate inserts turned out. I've been stuck between those ones and the orange line through the letters.

I think it looks perfect. My only issue is the orange tone is just ever so slightly off from the tremor badge right next to it. I am pretty sure I’ll be the only one who ever notices that though.

How much did you apply PPF to?

Can you provide a link to the tailgate lettering?

I'll be getting a full xpel wrap. Quotes I've gotten are pretty good comparitively to what I've seen on some forums (4.5k for xpel ultimate and 4.7k for xpel stealth). I ordered in antimatter blue and really like the bronco that was done in the stealth which gives it a matte look vs gloss. Still have some time to decide until my truck gets here.

I'll be in the bush with my truck so the wrap will help protect against any branches and also the gravel they throw down for traction in winters.
Stealth all the way. So unique and cool. I agree that the bronco with it looked awesome.

That is what I'm leaning towards. Was hoping I could find pictures of an f150 done to see what it would look before hand but I have yet to see an antimatter blue f150 wrapped in stealth.

Honestly, it’s the only way I would do a full PPF. Otherwise I’d go with the most vulnerable areas.

Now you’ve got me thinking, what would an iconic silver look like in a stealth wrap.

Looks awesome! Can you provide a link to the Tremor door sill protectors?

The value of the clear bra will vary depending on installer. I'm currently in a dispute with a local shop to Denver who damaged the vehicle by cutting on the paint and it's the worst install I've ever seen. Look at the photos and you be the judge. All photos are within 2-16 hours after receiving the vehicle back.

I'm asking them to remove and refund the cost + where there are cuts in the paint I will be pushing to have it repaired at a local dealership. No indications received yet how they'll proceed. At this point I wish I would have left the truck "naked" - buyer beware. I'm sick to my stomach over the whole debacle.

Wow that looks terrible! Mind if I asked what they charged for that shit job?

$1400 + tax. I had a few bids, this was not the lowest nor the highest. $1250-2400 range from different area shops. The price was not negotiated downwards from what was bid (& no negotiation pursued by me). Prior to commissioning the work I confirmed the install coverage, made it clear I expected a clean install, and dropped off the truck giving them 2 extra days to make sure it was done well and not in a time crunch. I met with their installer when I dropped off the vehicle and he expressed no concerns with the job and shared he has done hundreds of installs and there was nothing to be worried about here. I called before picking up (at the shop for 3 days), as I didn't want to make a 30 min drive and find out they needed it for another day, and they confirmed it was ready for pickup and that they didn't need to hold it longer.

This was installed by a franchise type shop and is Suntek Ultra material, which is good stuff. The owner of the franchise was not there when I picked up, the shop manager was. I pointed out the flaws and and he indicated the job was acceptable standard and that I'm welcome to bring it back in 3 weeks if there are any issues while it cures out.

I took it to 2 local PPF specialty shops today for assessment, they both told me it was amongst the worst installs they've seen and both were baffled. They pointed out a couple more potential cuts in the paint as well. I'm convinced getting a refund and the film removal is going to be difficult/unlikely based on the manager saying the install is acceptable, and even further convinced I'm going to need to sue them in small claims to get them to cover any damage. I'm being level headed with them at the moment, and hopefully I'm wrong and they'll step up to fix the damage caused.

Edit: The franchisee has indicated he can meet late Monday afternoon to review -- wish me luck.

Saw your pics and build and love your results. I just took delivery on AMB, 402A, removed the Tremor decal and going with same coating and film. Where can I find same tailgate decal and step guards?

Any updates on your wrap? Did you go with xpel stealth?

Was considering just Rocker Panel PPF. Hate the idea of mud flaps. Local place told be about $250-$300 for PPF Rocker panels, and still highly suggested Ceramics and PPF the entire truck and mud flaps. Probably just going to get the rocker panels done in a week or 2. ! - Maybe Husky mud flaps, they seem to be the lowest profile ones around

That is literally the worst job I have ever seen

I always ppf the front of my vehicles, and am liking the idea about doing the lower rocker panels

Met with the shop owner today, they'll remove the PPF everywhere installed and refund the payment. This took some pushing, the owner wanted to R&R and said the install issues stemmed from a bad batch of material (Suntek Ultra) - I told him the workmanship (not a single panel is right + FOD + hacked cuts), lack of QC, and the damage done cutting the paint are the real issues and R&R would not be acceptable to me. He acknowledged this was not an acceptable job and should not have been released.

The shop owner did not claim responsibility for the cuts in the paint, he says they look like to be in the PPF. The photos show the cuts just the same as can be seen in plain sight. Once removed, if the damage is there like believed, I'll push the shop to cover the cuts and ask him to accompany me to the nearest dealer for an estimate. Several statements made lead me to believe I'll have a battle.

If he balks on doing the right thing I'll share with him I plan to pursue this using all remedies available including small claims court (a nuisance and headache), notification to the franchise structure (probably won't make a difference), posts on social media (likely would hurt ability to attract business).

Open to suggestions.

Name the shop for others to avoid and I would make sure they don't try to cover themselves by doing any paint correction. Last thing you want is them trying to hide the cuts but in turn make things worse.

That has to be the worst application I have seen.

I’m going to do a partial front 18“ . I’ve inspected a lot of trucks and I rarely see damage past the front. I did the whole front on my GT3. But the tremor is so tall I think the partial plus headlights and fog lights will work. Im doing the rocker panels behind each wheel well also. I think that’s a $150 extra
