Thoughts on PPF? Worth it?

PPF Rocker panels;
I got 2 quotes from reputable detail shops.
big price differences.
1 shop - Rocker panels about $300
other shop - Rocker panels, front bumper and b-pillar $1200 ( laser cut from 1 sheet )

Rox when you get rocker panel quotes make sure to tell them you’re talking the small area behind each wheel well where it’s most common to get debris hitting the paint.
I was talking to a shop and they were thinking all the way up from the bottom to the top of the truck bed. ( unless that’s what you want) I just want where 99% of the debris hits the paint maybe 8-12 inches up from the bottom.

Thanks, I have to double check the less expensive place. The $1200 quote was the bottom 8-12" along each side, + front bumper and the B-Pillar. He said its a 2-3 day job? thought that was a little excessive( not sure ) when I find out and if I decide I will post pictures !

Update: Headlights and fogs cut, hood/fender cut/bumper pieces (2x)/both mirror caps all cut by razor blade. I've received three estimates so far, all between $8K-10K. All places want to blend into the doors. The shop owner says he's going to put a claim in through his insurance (Brown and Brown - who I'm not familiar with). I'm asking him for his policy number and a service rep, and will put in a claim through my insurance provider (AAA) and will just eat my deductible.

I'm sick to my stomach about this. I feel like I'll have a diminished value truck when it's said and done, there's no promise the aftermarket paint job will be OEM equivalent, and I'll get to pay my car note just for the truck to sit in a shop for 6 weeks.

Wish I would have never done the PPF.

Met with the shop owner today, they'll remove the PPF everywhere installed and refund the payment. This took some pushing, the owner wanted to R&R and said the install issues stemmed from a bad batch of material (Suntek Ultra) - I told him the workmanship (not a single panel is right + FOD + hacked cuts), lack of QC, and the damage done cutting the paint are the real issues and R&R would not be acceptable to me. He acknowledged this was not an acceptable job and should not have been released.

The shop owner did not claim responsibility for the cuts in the paint, he says they look like to be in the PPF. The photos show the cuts just the same as can be seen in plain sight. Once removed, if the damage is there like believed, I'll push the shop to cover the cuts and ask him to accompany me to the nearest dealer for an estimate. Several statements made lead me to believe I'll have a battle.

If he balks on doing the right thing I'll share with him I plan to pursue this using all remedies available including small claims court (a nuisance and headache), notification to the franchise structure (probably won't make a difference), posts on social media (likely would hurt ability to attract business).

Open to suggestions.

Oof, this is making me think twice about doing PPF when I get me truck in....

Got full Ceramic ( Paint,Trim,Wheels )
PPF both sides rocker panel front to back. ( My thoughts are no need for mud flaps ) - We shall see

Came out nice, hopefully it will hold up to the winter out here. They stand by their work and will fix anything for 5 years.

How do you guys in the salty snowy winters wash your trucks? Would even touchless car wash soaps break down ceramic coats? I'm going to avoid auto washes when I get my truck but man can vehicles get dirty here in the winter.

I’m ceramic coated and use touch less car washes regularly. If the weathers good enough I’ll wipe it down with a quick detailer after the touchless just to get the rest off, but in the winter as soon as the salts off the roads I run it through. I just don’t get the one with “clear coat protection “ or “hot wax”. Usually middle of the road is perfect, get under spray but no coating. My detailer/ ceramic installer said touch less is fine, but definitely avoid the brushes

The place that did my Ceramic said the same thing. Touchless is fine, No Carwash Brushes.
