Transmission Pan Replacement

Now that I have a drain plug, how often would be a good interval for the filter replacement. Just did the ATF and filter with the pan at just over 26.5k miles
Filter every 60K. Fluid every 30

The normal capacity fits with all the skid plates, the deep pan does not.

We have seen close to 10 degree temp drop with the extra capacity pan, but this is a slippery slope with all the different conditions to get an exact measure of what the difference truly is.

The main benefit is replacing the factory plastic with an aluminum finned pan that has a magnetic drain plug for service. Everyone should be changing fluid in there 10spds way before your owner’s manual says to.

I’m a dealer if anyone needs help sourcing there PPE products!
My Deep sump PPE Pan fits with the RCI transmission skid plate, I have about 1" of clearance. Plenty.

Got mine installed just yesterday. Bought it about a month ago and was going to install it myself but just kept getting other things to do on my only day off during the week. Ended up buying the pan from summit because Flying Wrenches had a kit but was sold out, but I still got the service kit from FW. Had a local small town dealer do it.
Have you noticed any difference in temps just cruising around?

Nothing huge yet. I noticed I was at 193 degrees yesterday after my drive home but I keep forgetting to pay attention. Keep in mind it’s really hot and humid here in NW GA this week so that may be good. I have seen it up to 210 before I got the new pan

Ok, I was hitting 215-217 right steady in 90* weather and noticed my raptor skid plate was always pretty hot after driving and decided to remove it to see if it made a difference and surprisingly it’s holding 210-208 and seems to cool quicker in the same weather, IDK I’ll keep an eye on it maybe it’s not letting cooler air to pass thru. I’m also looking at the PPE pans when I change fluid.

I run an aftermarket skid plate with deep PPE pan! Just put in 2,000 mile round trip Houston to Florida June 2026. We had 4 adults and luggage and ran 75-85 when I could and tranny ran 195 on average. Low would be around 187 and maybe 205 in heat and heavy traffic. Before I could hit 220 easily. The reason I run the pan is mine warped at 30k miles and I was 500 miles from home and took a long time for repair. I have details on that if you search this site. Happy with the pan and quality.
