I read through it but dont see anything about replacing the valve body. Do you see that on the parts list?
But it's so fun to blow past people! I test drove the 3rd gen Nissan Frontier over the weekend and couldn't believe how much slower it is off the line. On all my vehicles I've never done anything with the transmission as it was engrained in me that once you change (or especially flush) the trans fluid it starts messing with them. To be fair most of my vehicles have been manuals so it has only been a few automatics.
No mention of the valve body in parts. I drove about 50 miles last night, mostly highway, and it feels like a different truck. Buttery smooth shifts, no hesitation and flawless performance up to 95mph haha. I guess I didn't realize how bad the trans was before.
I didn't realize either. The first rebuild (without the valve body replaced) got worse than before the rebuild. That said, it didnt drive anything like it does now until that valve body was replaced. Hopefully if it wasn't mentioned on yours it wasn't an issue.
They're going to tell you to drive it for something like 500 miles for the shifting strategy to learn. Hopefully that's all it is but as I mentioned mine wound up requiring a subsequent rebuild with the valve body finally being replaced. You'll be able to tell when it's finally fixed.
I'm going to drive it more and see if the shifting improves. Seems to only happen during the cold months and if I remote start it for a few minutes it doesn't happen.
