Tremor Off-road — What do you want to see in a video

I had my antimatter truck fully wrapped in PPF (XPEL) and ceramic coating, only satin on the grill area. It has already saved the paint a few times from pinstriping. I went to a very reputable shop here locally and based on their feedback, would strongly urge people to reconsider doing extensive wraps themselves. Based on the shops comments the hood is extremely difficult based on the aggressive look and design, it took them three attempts.

Which film did you go with? Any updated pics?
I'm trying to decide which way to go with mine. I'm thinking some sort of satin with clear in certain places

What type of pics are you looking for? Pics of seams, or overall appearance?

General appearance would be great. Plus, I love that color. It's like Miss December, 1976. There are never too many photographs

That is the only difference. I've had a shiny lead foot for 3 years, the pics I have seen of them with stealth look amazing. I want a slightly different look and the added scratch protection. Tired of cut and buffs after deep trips in the woods.View attachment 297View attachment 298View attachment 299
I looked into getting the Stealth PPF on my tremor… the prices quoted ranged between $7500 and $9500. I couldn’t justify spending that much extra on a $70k truck. My wife would kill me. 🤣

I agree with you — it gets pretty expensive. I would much rather try doing it myself and save $6000 to $8000.

I think if I had the skillset, patience and tools, I would try it myself. but I'm also the same guy who built a fantastic bathroom in a short 3 years.... Yes, my wife was pleased.

Brother, you got big ones!!! My wife would execute me. LOL

Agree, love to see pics.

Thinking of it, I want @UpsideDownIn - to bring his camera man to my back yard and we run up the hill.

Yeah, I figured the same — put the armor on top of the Ultimate Plus to eliminate a potential seam. So I need to decide then:

Options:

1. Rocker Panels with Armor + Front Hood and Quarter Panels with Ultimate Plus
2. Full Wrap with Ultimate Plus
3. Full Wrap with Ultimate Plus + Armor Rocker Panels

I think option 2 is the preferred one — I can always add Armor later if needed. However, its a good jump for a first time into the DIY of vinyl application. I am I up for the challenge I think. I could always start with the front hood and quarter panels first and see how it goes before I commit to the rest of the truck too.

I looked at the wheel wells as a potential when I was at Line X. The representative said it was too difficult to get the coverage in the wheel well — spraying back towards the outside of the wheel well. I wasn’t in a position to be able to argue with him as I haven’t done it before.

Anyway, he recommended that I do a complete under protective coating — I understood this to be different than the bed spray and similar to what dealerships have offered over the years to all new vehicle owners.

I also plan on undercoating and rustproofing with line-x. I assume they will do the wheel wells. I like the sound deadening additional benefits. New thought after learning of the driveshaft recall is do they cost over all those pieces that are glued on ?

This sounds like a good test — I will do both.

1. Camera compare to tire track vs. projection (as described earlier)
2. Tire marks compared to photo of camera tire projections (may use some fluorescent cards/objects to place on the ground for reference points)

I can tell you that I have navigated the tight confines of the local KFC and Starbucks drive-throughs using the camera tire projections. To use in 2H, you simply come to a stop and push the camera button, then push the forward zone and it will add tire projections over the top view. Seems to be darn accurate — works in reverse also for those instances where you want to mash in a specific portion of the car behind you. 😉

This is a great feature to have for those tight parking spaces

Our OE tires are good for a lot of stuff. I tore a sidewall in my back yard but it's not your typical back yard

I've torn every Non-E rated tire. I've ever had. Shit, my OE tire bead tore while it was being taken off the rim to install my Toyos.

Jobsites and forest roads do not make for a happy 4 ply tire.

If you are still going off roading, i would definitely like to see how the front articulates. Also, hear your opinion on how the front reacts while articulating since theres the front swaybar intact. Be careful out there with them unprotected rockers and the lil protection stock skids offer. And my personal experience with doing a ppf myself… definitely start with something smaller, mayber a piece of the vehicle that doesnt have as many curves. Maybe start with a different vehicle and do the front 12” of the hood? It really has a HUGE learning curve in manipulating the film, getting it tacky in points in order to stretch the film around angles and over curves. The film must be stretched tight in order to grab the surface. Not to mention, you must do a thorough decontamination and make sure the paint surface is as perfect as you want it before you seal that surface under the ppf. You quickly realize that you can spend a couple to few days to do a decent job.

I am thinking of finding a trail this weekend or sometime in the near future — I am thinking of recording it, what would you like to see?

1. What type of video equipment should I use — GoPro?
2. What do you want to see in action (Trail Control, 1 Pedal, Turn Assist)?
3. What type of terrain (think Southeastern Ohio)?

I am not sure I am going to be up to the level of using rocker bars as a pivot turn assist — thinking of Yeti.
What part of southeast Ohio? If you have the chance to run something slippery without damaging you vehicle a video showing the different modes and which works the best would be good

Guys, it's way cheaper to protect with clear bra. I did a video about it. The Artworks Unlimited do tons of them. Side panels, front hood, rockers ect. I can't remember price but I know it's under 2k. I think just sides were like 600 bucks.
