What advantage does the 5.0 have vs the 3.5?

I'm not sold on the 5.0 being more reliable than the 3.5. These Coyote engines have had their share of problems. I'm not saying they are bad engines, I'm just saying that just because it's an NA motor, doesn't per say mean it's more reliable.
its because they have cheapened it up! in 19 they burned oil in the f150 like crazy because of the sleeve change.. i had a 2016 5.0 king ranch.. was really reliable. just got the 22 tremor.. 3.5 now, fingers crossed it holds up like my 5.0 did!

I haven't had a 5.0 since.. wait, I run one, now. Granted, it's 30 years old and from Canada and even though I know a lot has changed in motor tech, I'm going to roll with this...
The 5.0 spins up more quickly and is fantastic for instant response and getting to its power band, Now! Streetlight racing, tight twisties and autocross are where that magic happens. My argument for a 5.0 is easy-mode winch and adding a blower. Unlike my previous truck, Ford makes their engines rock solid (sometimes they have technical difficulties) and they can handle adding turbos, blowers, etc. And still be reliable.

Back when I could fit in a sports car, I remember how fantastic that Honda motor that could hit 10k was. Totally different to drive and the excitement factor in the seat wasn't impressive but the performance was amazing and the track numbers don't lie.

My 51 F1 absolutely smokes my Tremor. It has a naturally aspirated 93 Cobra R, weighs in at around 1900 pounds and has a max payload of 803 pounds. Basically, I can get to and from the dump very quickly but for some reason, it takes me hours to make the journey in Luci where it takes 25 minutes in Mountain Yak.

The 5.0 is cheaper right? I haven’t checked the ‘23 build sheets but thought the 3.5 was an up charge.
I had a 2015 F150 with the 5.0. Worked great, never had a problem over 130,000 miles. And it sounded good when you put your foot in it.
But this 3.5 TT with the 10 speed has so much more driveable and linear power - so much smoother, doesn’t feel like you’re having to push it hard.
Actually, for the '23 Tremor, both engines are offered at the same price. I prefer the 3.5 for this application anyway, but given the fact they are the same price, I would think it would push more buyers in that direction.

Please keep the put downs

There are a lot of people who won't pay attention to the fact they are equally price and order the 5.0 thinking they are going to be saving money, just hope they don't decide to drop the 3.5 as a no cost upgrade.

I am a huge 3.5 EcoBoost fan. I am on my fourth one and I know all their problems and still buy them. In fact the EcoBoost has kept me from jumping ship to RAM or Toyota I like it so much. BUT, if the 5.0 was available when I purchased mine. I would have jumped on it and supercharged it. I think it would complement the Tremor’s mean look and piss of Raptor owners. I hope we see a Tremor R in the future.

The closest you may get to a Tremor R will be if Roush or one of the others offer a supercharged Tremor, Ford won't make that move because there's no other competition in that class.

Now if Ram were to do a supercharged Rebel, Ford may go that route with Roush helping.

I have owned both the 5.0 and the 3.5 ecoboost. The 5.0 did get a little better gas mileage, but I will take a 3.5 any day. The performance of the 3.5 will blow a Ram Hemi away! But that is my opinion.

Not much stopping anyone to get larger turbos and supporting mods. I'm sure that would piss many people off.

800-1k with the right turbos and tune are not out of question with the Ecoboost, as long as your not planning on long-term use of the truck, if so get a couple of extra engines to keep you going to 200k miles.

There is something special about the V8 sound with blower wine, But I would never trade the V8 sound of the 5.slow for all the EcoBoost has to offer. I have never built an EB and kinda scared to. When I use to build diesel trucks you start out small and before you know it, your life savings is flying out the exhaust tip. Because when it comes to horse power “to much, is never enough”.

I had a 2018 3.5EB. Loved the power, didn't like the sound. Then my friend bought the same truck but with 5.0 and put a Rousch exhaust on it. Once I went for a ride in it, I was hooked. 5.0 sounds sooooo good. Then looking for a 5.0 Tremor, I happened upon my dream build but with 3.5 for $4500 under MSRP, so I said screw it. I'm back in a 3.5.

What I like about the 3.5 on the Tremor is that it is very quiet, with a nice rumble at idle. As I've grown older, I've come to appreciate stealth power. I like being able to get on it, and not have everyone and their brother turn their head to see the vehicle or be angry.

It's funny what people consider loud. I remotely started my 3.5 while camping with friends and they said.. Wow is that diesel .. that thing is loud :-)

You are so right. The 3.5 has a soft rumble and some awesome power under the hood! Gotta love it! I wonmt buy another 5.0 after this 3.5.

I like the sentiment though I bet a 911 Turbo on a dirt road would be a blast.
Hmmm wasn't their a Porsche rally car, I think they used to race some of the European rallies.
