Why don't I have auto start/ stop?

I have read the Rivian is having reliability issues in current state. I wonder how accurate that is.
I’m sure it’s having some issues but that’s to be expected for a brand that’s only been out in the market for almost two years now.

The entire EV market has cooled down and hybrids are becoming a more popular option.

Why are yall so against the auto start/stop button? If you turn the auto start/stop off, the setting saves and you don’t have to touch it ever again.

Hybrids are by far a more efficient and greener solution at this time.

My '23 didn't have it either (thanks covid) and got the $50 credit also. But you can download the Ford app at the dealer and you can do auto start and much more! Would like the heated steering wheel but since never having one not sure what I'm missing ....and can just wear gloves!!

How’s the Rivian?
It looks like a very cool and interesting EV.
I like it a lot actually, it fits my use case and saves me money on gas so that’s a win. I haven’t done any road trips with it because that just seems like a pain especially when the tremor just has so much more space and I don’t have to worry about charging and all those shenanigans.

That’s pretty much describes my experience, I took delivery and then I almost immediately took a trip and I left it at home. When I got back it wouldn’t charge so I took it to the service center and the replaced the high voltage battery and they had the car for three weeks🤦. And that happened when the car had about 300 miles on the clock. Since then it’s been great and I’ve put about 4,000 miles on it so I’ve tried to look past the early problems!

Turn it off how? Pressing the button only disables it for that drive in my '23.

Auto stop / start isn’t the same as starting the vehicle via the Ford Pass app.

Thank GOD my 23 does not have it! I hate when my other car shuts off the motor and you have a delay taking off making a turn. I LOVE the fact it does not have it! Also wonder if it causes starters to crap out sooner!

If you leave your defrost on all the time it disables the auto stop/start. Can't have any vents or floor on...just defrost. I've had 4 Ford vehicles with auto stop/start and the defrost trick worked on all of them. My 2023 Tremor does not have the auto stop/start, I had to sign a form stating this, dealer told me it was due to the covid chip shortage. Also missing due to that chip was vibrating seat, box camera and heated steering wheel. Form did say heated steering wheel would be available to install in the future.

Vibrating seat?

What about this option?
This is going to be my first mod when I get my new Tremor.

2022 with 402a. I have the heated steering wheel etc. but auto start/stop was factory deleted. My understanding is that this feature involves quite a bit more than just one chip; there’s a special starter, special battery, numerous sensors, maybe even an auxiliary electric water pump and A/C enhancements etc. I’m curious as to whether my truck would have none of those attributes (completely old school) or if at some time if the “chip” could be supplied, I could easily have start/stop undeleted…. not that I would want to, you understand.
Any body know?

Mechanical components are still there, it is related to a control module/chip. I don't know of anyone that has gone through the effort to find out what is needed to restore the functionality.
