Winch install

Maybe is more a general rule than something that applies to f150s, still if you put a winch is very likely that you will give the truck some rough driving, and you are preparing to get yourself out of a muddy situation, that would certainly take a toll on the suspension among other things. Or maybe I’m over my head here 🙂, but it does make sense to me

Most of the basic shocks such as what comes on the Tremor are only going last 60K ish before you start to get more bounce out of the suspension. Some of the aftermarket kits that are meant to be “rebuilt” may last longer, not really sure. I think it’s all very relative to how you use the truck, how much FUN your suspension endures. If you’re mostly running around town and highway, not carrying a bunch of weight, could last longer.
The suspension needs to be replaced on these trucks at 50K-100K?
I’ve never heard of this before on any F150 trim.

completely agree!!!

Anyone add a hidden winch kit to a Tremor with 5.0?
I have, for the 5.0 you don't have an intercooler, so the addition is easy, you might have to cut/bend a little piece knob they put on the frame, that piece of metal is there to hold part of the intercooler, and they put it on all even on the 5.0 I'm guessing when they weld the frame together they don't know yet if it will end up with a 5.0 or a the turbocharged. That metal excess is useless to the 5.0 but if you want you can keep it and weld it back, in fact you can weld back the whole left end of the frame and it would still be an easy job.
I used the SwarfWorks with the warn neon 12s platinum, if you scroll you will see my pics here, it was super simple, I started bending the little piece of metal but ended up cutting it, maybe yours does not have it and you are saved the trouble.

I did the hidden winch on my 2022 Tremor last year. I used the Swarfworks mount. They had to make a different plate for it to work with the Tremor, but they got it to me quickly. You might want to double-check that when you order. I had to also do an intercooler relocation/replacement because I have the Ecoboost. I used the Full Race motorsports intercooler powder-coated black, and a turbo smart BOV. I also elected to use a Warn Zeon 10-S Platinum winch. I could not find a Warn Zeon 12-S Platinum anywhere and they were all on backorder with no ETA when I was looking. I decided to go ahead and pay the premium price for the Warn Zeon Platinum because of the wireless remote that also controls the clutch. It does not have the regular manual clutch. I think it would be a bit more challenging using other winches in the hidden mount. So it was quite an expensive endeavor because of the intercooler relocation and also going with a top-end winch. I have been very happy with the final outcome. There is an old thread about winches somewhere were I posted some before. But here are a couple of pics.
Hey Man. can You send me link for the winch mount and intercooler set up. I want one on my truck

I just need to find the stones to finally buy the winch itself. Been waffling on scraping the whole project and selling the mount…

I'm in the same boat the platinum warns are expensive, been trying to find alternatives but it's the clutch engagement that scares me no way around it

Yep, same. Pretty much stuck with the wireless clutch because I don’t think it’s feasible to have the manual switch

I was wondering if someone had a picture from inside the engine bay down to where the winch mounts if you can see the clutch, might be able to fab up a handle and poke something like the dodges have

I don't think there's an easy way to access the clutch, which is why I went with the Warn Zeon 12S Platinum, which has wireless controls, including the clutch. Especially with the Swarfworks mount, you'd have to mount the winch with the front facing downward. I'll go see if I can get a photo for you... sest a sec...

As far as I can tell, without being able to climb up into the engine bay, there's not really a good way to access the clutch. MAYBE, if you attached something from the side, or routed cable/rope to pull it on/off, but there's not good access. In the pictures it's hard to even see the winch.

Whenever I've needed to access the mounted winch body, I have been able to reach in from the wheel well and kind of snake my arm in there from the side, but it's not what I'd call a pleasant experience, and certainly wouldn't be if you're stuck in a watery mud pit, but maybe you could go in from the side? (See the last image.)
