What's new

Would you return this bed mat?

This was my first thought but #1 ford does offer spray in bed liner from factory and I would assume they would have a disclaimer on their accessory site saying it isn't compatible with spray in bed liners and #2 i've found several pictures on different forums showing the oem mat fitted properly on trucks with the spray in bed liners.

I'm thinking this is probably a QC issue. I am heading to the dealer tomorrow to swap it out. If that doesn't solve my problem, I'm going to attempt to trim the sides down a tad. Open to suggestions on how to do that cleanly...

Either way I'll let you guys know how I make out.
The Ford factory bed liner is about two pieces of paper thick with zero prep work. Complete waist of money.

Send it back and save some money by getting a $59.00 mat some where to throw in the bed, I just carried mine over from my 2017, it fits perfectly, plus it already has paint, blood, stain and various other stuff pounded into it so I don't have to worry as much about keeping it spotless. I use my truck as a truck, so I really don't worry about the look as much, yes I try not to scratch it all to hell but it's a truck and is used as such. This one is what I think mine is and works very well.

Aight guys here's the rest of the story. Turns out it is definitely a QC issue. I went to the dealer today and swapped it out for another one (same part number) and it fits nearly perfect. The small hump on the left at the tailgate lays flat when you put a little weight on it. I'm assuming it will flatten out. The previous mat was like 3/16th to a 1/4 inch wider.

To answer the question of why bother when I have the line-x, this is to keep things from sliding around. The line-x isn't really grippy at all. I also wanted the extra cushion for my knees. Was it really necessary? No, but it definitely adds some functionality and comfort and I paid for it with my fordpass points anyway. Im very happy with the way the bed is setup now.

I have the same bed mat and after I had the spray-in done, I noticed that they trimmed it to fit right around the wheel wells. My guess, like mentioned before, is that the bedliner is the reason it’s buckled in the middle.

EDIT: Just saw your last post. Awesome that they swapped it for you.

If we all bought only things that were necessary, we'd have a lot more money in our pockets and the parts dealers would be out of business.
