2021 Ford F-150 Tremor 401A Vs Tremor 402A

I kinda miss having a 4A "type" (coming from AWD Durango, especially in the rain) - but if I'm "socializing with other vehicles" in a straight line, I just throw into 4H and switch back to 2H when I see them in the rear view mirror ;) - a 402a would be out of my budget.. I was originally pricing a XLT with 302a (sweet spot around $55K).. so the 401a + options that I got was about $5K over budget already.. but no regrets!

I was in the same spot as you and at Canadian prices the 402A was way out of line once I added 3m, undercoat and box spray with wheel well liners and mudflaps. I too was dissapointed at the 4A but sometimes you ha e to give up one thing to get a whole bunch in return.

4A and hi-link transfer would be nice indeed, but let us 401a guys count our blessings..no flimsy ride height sensors for auto-adjusting headlights to worry about.

LOL, that is a funny one. I will take a "flimsy" sensor in exchange for 4A and that great transfer case any day of the week.

Last I checked we are all on Team F150 Tremor. I feel blessed being able to afford and acquire the package that suites me, let alone the actual vehicle in this crazy market. Lets get back to our roots and make fun of Prius owners instead.

So I was in a race against a Prius the other day.

I kept up for the first 100ft but I can only walk so fast...

@Jstonk What's the name of the 3M clear protective film you had applied to the body?

I'm another fan of the 4 auto. I use it all the time in my Raptor when it rains. If not the back end is all over the place with the BFG KO2s.
That's why I no longer even consider the BFG KO2s as a viable tire, the generals and the falken wildpeak at3w are way better tires in majority of conditions. Jmo

I’m not sure I’ll ever buy anything different than the Toyo AT3. I’ve had great traction in all conditions and they’ve all went over 60k.

I had Nitto Terra Grappler G2s on my '13 F150. I put them on at about 62,000 miles, and still had them on when I sold it in October with 168,000 miles. AND THERE WAS STILL PLENTY OF TREAD!

Well when I made the switch to the generals from the BFG, I was worried, after getting around 70k out of that set and never having to worry about kickin' the tail end out in rain, I was sold on the generals. Had a set of of the toyo's on another vehicle, they were good but don't offer the looks or traction in certain conditions. If you tow a lot there's no better tire though. Last vehicle general did not make a tire in the size to fit it, so I searched and finally decide on the falkens for the price and what it offered, after 69k on the first set and 45k on the second set with 9/32nds tread left when I traded, I firmly believe it may be the best tire on the market.

Excellent question, I looked through all the paperwork and no product brand was listed sorry.

Comparing 401A & 402A. I seen the 2022 build sheet and looks like they made some changes besides deleting 2 poplular colors ( Velocity Blue and Lead foot ) adding Rapid red with an upcharge of course.
401A - you cant get the larger 36 fuel tank, leather, B&O unleashed or Blue Cruise.
it does appear you can get mot other options even 4A ( I think ) I will be possibly ordering a 2022 tremor, just haven't decided on 401 or 402 yet. with that price difference not sure if it's worth the extra cost??

36 gal tank is included on 401a. They added a blue and no red as far as I know.

4a is on 402a only

I called poor Chip about leather on my 401a order, he said "no sir only 402a". He said he gets so many change order calls 🙄...you reckon 50% of them are us? 😆

Quick comment on the seats. I'm 401a, which has leather "bolsters" on the areas that rub a lot, and cloth on the main seat and seat back areas. I've had leather since '03, and was sceptical. But I really like the combination of cloth and leather. The base 400 only has cloth, without the TREMOR logo on the seatback. I'm probably going to miss the air conditioned seats in the Oklahoma summer, but so far I'm happy with the 401a seats.

Thanks. for the 2022's I didn't see 36 tank as an option - just noticed it's included. ! I know you can get the front Torsen on 401A or 402A. ( I thought if you got the t The blue is Atlas - similar to Velocity no up-charge.

I thought this below gave you the 4A ? Maybe I will just with a 2022 Tremor 401A for the cost the 401A is still pretty nice. - unless the B&O unleashed is that much better - it's just a radio. and the leather, as well as blue cruise is not a necessity - more of a want I guess. I thought the 401A was just cloth seats too? Hopefully the ford website will update so I can put something together for my dealer to build for me. I have a lightning reserved and don't expect to see it until 2024.. My f150 I love but can't keep it forever, since I use it for work.
