2021 Ford F-150 Tremor 401A Vs Tremor 402A

Thanks. for the 2022's I didn't see 36 tank as an option - just noticed it's included. ! I know you can get the front Torsen on 401A or 402A. ( I thought if you got the t The blue is Atlas - similar to Velocity no up-charge.

I thought this below gave you the 4A ? Maybe I will just with a 2022 Tremor 401A for the cost the 401A is still pretty nice. - unless the B&O unleashed is that much better - it's just a radio. and the leather, as well as blue cruise is not a necessity - more of a want I guess. I thought the 401A was just cloth seats too? Hopefully the ford website will update so I can put something together for my dealer to build for me. I have a lightning reserved and don't expect to see it until 2024.. My f150 I love but can't keep it forever, since I use it for work.

Oh yeah the options are tricky for sure. Ford isn't making it any easier.

401A has cloth seats with some fake leather sides. They look nice enough to me.

Torsen isn't 4 Auto. You need the Hi-Lock transfer case to get 4 Auto, that is only available on the 402a package. The Torsen is a limited slip front diff and is only a 500 stand-alone option.

This page highlights pretty well the difference between the two. From the order guide.

Thanks - I didn't notice the hi-lock before. I have the full 2022 PDF, just didn't look that close. 4A would be nice too, but the 36 tank would help me more. Don't really need the 12" instrument screen. I will have to check closer, there is one option on the 402A - Power folding mirrors. ugh if that isn't available I will be bummed. Helps a lot pulling in my garage. I guess they have to make the 402A worth getting for that high price tag. Still might just get a few options and 401A ( torsen, work surface, adaptive cruise(co-pilot assist), tow package ! Nice improvements over my 2014 FX4. With the Tremor, I would likely just level it and done

I had a 15 XLT FX4 and went with the 401a. The other differences that haven’t been mentioned are the 402a has led taillights and painted mirrors.

There are quite a few extra's on the 402A. just for me not sure how much is cool or that I really will need or use to justify the pricing. hope to get it sometime mid 2022 and hold onto it for 3-6 years. with either package, I still need to add some options that are not on either as standard. Maybe they will offer Tremor -Powerboost for 2023 or 2024!

My Lariat had 4a and I had to get 402A to get 4a in my Tremor.

It seems like the same transfer case from the Lariat is in the 400 and 401 but Ford decided to exclude 4a to sweeten the pot for 402a and create a greater separation in trims.

Same thing with the rear cup holders. You need 402a to get the fold down cup holders in the back seat.

I may be wrong, but I think the Transfer case in the Lariat is a little different, while it does has 4A, has a clutch engagement instead of being mechanically locked like the 402A/Raptor T-case when in 4H. Thus, Hi-Lock.

the Lariat transfer case is the same as the 400 and 401, but Ford decided to not include the 4a.

I don’t care in the difference in transfer cases between the Lariat/400/401 and 402A Hi-lock. My point was only that Ford decided to remove a specific feature and cripple the lower spec’d Tremors when they didn’t have to.

^thats true, no reason for it, especially when you can get as an option the front torsen. I really would like 4A, but the $7500 over 401A to get the 402A. hmmm. Actually $8K+ higher, because you can get the B&O unleashed with 402A. I am going to talk myself into the 401A. sometime bewteen now and march I will put an order together. I want to keep my truck at least through one more midwest winter, since I have brand new tires on her !

I ordered a 401a with torsen, auto start stop delete, level kit, b&o 8 speaker sysytem, and dealer is installing katskinz for leather seats. Here in Canada 402a is a $16,000 package so didn't make sense for me to get the 402a.

Nice!. I plan on leveling it for sure 2" or 2.5" - my local dealers wont do it, so I will. Definitely not worth $16K for the 402A.
