2022 MY Order Banks Open Now

Yeah that really sucks. You definitely need a truck for that nightmare of a project. I’m glad mine is over. I hope you find building more enjoyable than I did! Mine was a daily driver too which is why in 6 years it had so many miles on it. Thankfully I had access to a beater I can clunk around in while I wait. I was afraid if I would’ve kept it much longer I was going to have to start dumping money into it at which point I wouldn’t have been all that motivated to get a different one.
So far the process is actually pretty fun. Just fell about 50 trees last night and hundreds more to go. We are building our dream house so hired a really high end custom builder. He is awesome to work with. My fiancé also builds production homes for a living, so with her understanding of things, it's been pretty smooth.

My build week was also originally 10/18, now it has been pushed back 2 weeks for 11/1.

At what point does the MY switch to 22 on the production line? I have a VIN, so does that guarantee a MY21?

From the grapevine, so take it with a grain of salt, if they need to move you to MY22 they have to place your order from scratch again.

That would be a bummer. Hopefully I won’t have to deal with that.

Yeah if that happens to you it will most certainly happen to me. I’m guessing if it does then that means no wheels until 2022. I would be pretty irritated.

I've been checking the Ford build and price page for the 2022 update for colors and pricing. Still nothing new. I'm surprised being the 2021 order banks have been closed for a while now.

Yeah, not sure who their customer experience SVP is but I'm kind of thinking they should be looking for another job.

Still nothing in regards to the 2022 F150 on the Ford website. Pretty strange considering now you can supposedly order one.

Order banks pushes to 9/22 per source at Ford with knowledge. That date still remains tentative.

lol, I wonder if Ms. Ford (head of customer experience) has a clue what she's doing. Regardless of availability of chips, scheduling fiascos, or dynamic manufacturing practices, you make some cohesive BS up that you can provide your customers and stick with that.

I can see it now, (news desk in the future) "Ford no longer owns market share" - "chip shortage/covid blamed for Ford's dramatic downfall and is definitely not how Ford treated their customers."

Yeah, I'm a bit grumpy. My 21 order isn't (and appears it won't be) scheduled but those that are shouldn't be treated like a tennis ball. I mean, you have N chips/accessories/components and (theoretically) know what you can build with those. Why are you jerking your customers around?

What is the difference between MY21 and MY22? literally the week they are scheduled to be built. Meaning, this silliness will continue but be called MY22.

Its not known that MY21 orders will roll over and be in first place for MY22 orders. That will be required to be done by your dealer. You will want to be and need to be a squeaky wheel to push to be a priority order. This piece of information is not 100% known but expected.

As I understand it, the dealership can only schedule down to 10(which I am). Ford would have to schedule it as a higher priority (down to 1). I haven't heard of anything in the order banks where it allows previous 21 orders to be scheduled ahead of other/new 22 orders. Again, as I understand it, a MY21 order doesn't auto-roll into a MY22. the MY22 order is effectively a new order with no history attached.

If I'm wrong, please do educate me so my rants don't muddy the facts.

That's the story I got from my local dealer back in August. I was told by him not to order until the 2022 order banks open because if the 2021 order isn't built I would have to reorder again.

I just saw a screen shot posted on the FB group. It looks like they're dropping lead foot, guard and kodiak brown and adding atlas blue.

The screenie seems to be generic across F150s and didn't see much about specific packages.

I see a lot of Ram Rebels being sold in the near future. I’ve tried to call Ford about multiple questions and literally the only thing I’ve been told is to contact the dealer. Wasted hours on the phone for them to them to literally tell me to call someone else. Here’s a good one, why is it you can order a 40k XL or a 90k limited and get 0% for 72 months but if you order a Tremor or a Raptor they tell you to pound sand? Guess what, no one at Ford seems to have the answer for that. Sorry for the rant, it’s just frustrating. They could charge less for those trucks if they’d stop paying people to answer the phone for no apparent reason.

I saw that post too. I was looking for Performance blue but Atlas blue will work for me.

IF they offer it on the Tremor. If Lead Foot is no longer an option, I hope they'll open up Carbonized Gray. If not, It's AMB FTW.

Going to make the 2021 lead foot pretty desirable since such low numbers were made.

/sarcasm font - I wonder if I can get some legal action against Ford to discount my 2022 since they screwed the pooch, want to charge me more for a 2022 AND because of their actions, caused me to lose future value for my amazing truck. Not to mention the personal grief :)
