2023 Tremor Transmission Failed 30k miles (Many thanks to Todd Silva Planet Ford 59 Houston!!!!)

Just ordered through Grainger, less than 41 months and 41k miles gives new vehicle warranty. Went 100k/10 yr with lighting warranty, $100 deductible. No inspection needed.

Isn’t Powertrain 5yr/60,000? Trans should fall under the powertrain warranty.

My 21 Expedition just had the trans replaced by ford at 60K miles. Zero issues with a loaner. Problem is, the new trans acts just as poorly as the original trans.
I changed the trans fluid in my Tremor at 15k miles and it seems to be good but....

Just dropped $9K this morning on my son's '19 KR that failed with 490 miles over the extended warranty. I have a '23 Tremor with the ext warr and will be dropping it by every time something dont sound right.

Do not take to “Mac Haik Ford-Houston” for anything related to CV joints and transmissions. Full details to come when the dust settles. Just my warning!!!! Clearly the people who work on the transmissions need training and the Service Manager cannot return phone calls or emails. Even Ford corporate was ignored. Truck will be repaired in FL and shipped back to me in Houston. Also, if you rent a car if under warranty over 100 miles from home you must rent a Ford to be paid back. No mention of that when I went to go get a car on the Sunday of the failure. Argh! Out $700 on that to get home.

The thing what burns me up is Mac Haik worked on the front end and transmission and bleeds out fluid on the first road trip with vehicle since I got it back. I told them they may want to discuss with tech who did the work. So they don’t screw up again. Not a care in the world! No quality control at that place!!!!

Sounds like I may be out a truck 2-3 months. I have never hired an attorney but that may be the next step! What good is a warranty if no technical people to work on it. If you travel none of the out of state dealers want to work on it. But, my local dealer in TX is like get it repaired in FL. No answers just wait it out. So done with this truck and Ford!!!!!

I know this is a PITA, but you’re still under the powertrain warranty and even if you have to wait a month, you’ll be back in your truck before you know it.

My 5.0 was replaced at 4K miles voluntarily because a bad dealer didn’t know how to replace a $16 rear-main seal and bunged the job up, TWICE. Leading ford to replace the engine at a different dealer to avoid lemon law. Was without my truck for about 2 months. So stupid. Engine was fine. Just a stupid tech.
Which dealer in Oregon so I can avoid them??? LOL

Crater Lake Ford.

Butler Ford in Ashland is the best Ford dealer in Oregon (the one that inevitably fixed my truck). Multiple-award-winning for quality and customer service since they opened. Perfect record.

Thank you Sir. I am up in Tigard, so a bit away, but drive down frequently for ice hockey tournaments for my kid. Thanks!

So a dealer in Houston and Ford Corporate are taking care of me. They are stepping up and should have an update with details within maybe 1-2 weeks vs 1-2 months. I will give an update when any new information is available. Some great people at Ford and some not so great. Gotta find the good ones. Keeping my cool seems to be the key to success.

The last sentence in your posting is usually the key to many if not most success in many unusual situations.

I don’t get it!! You said they are stepping up and fixing it. If it’s under 60000 miles or 5 years old there going to fix it. Unless you have done something out of the ordinary to the vehicle. My son took his truck FX4 in for a transmission fluid service. And the ended up rebuilding the transmission under warranty, because of what the fluid showed them. They had it for 5 days. Didn’t cost nothing !! Florida Ford Dealers stand behind there Fords.

For those with CV problems, is your truck lifted? If so, how much and have any of the dealers attributed the problem to the aftermarket lift?

Can you share which dealership? I live in CC but am up the HTX often (sister lives there).

Little to no CV failures in this group. Tremors have the Raptors rzeppa CV joints so even if you are leveled 2"+ and wheel it pretty hard they keep running. Time will tell though.

My problem is the dealer closest to the failure in FL on Nov 30, cannot even look at until January at the earliest. That is taking way too long in my opinion for a truck under warranty. It sits in FL now possible getting moved to Plant Ford 59 in Houston at some point in the future. Waiting on corporate Ford to make the move. Warranty is no good if dealers out of town don’t work on out of town Fords.
