2023 Tremor Transmission Failed 30k miles (Many thanks to Todd Silva Planet Ford 59 Houston!!!!)

Little to no CV failures in this group. Tremors have the Raptors rzeppa CV joints so even if you are leveled 2"+ and wheel it pretty hard they keep running. Time will tell though.
My truck is 100% factory with no abuse. The CV joint failed at ~27K miles just under 3 years.

Can you share which dealership? I live in CC but am up the HTX often (sister lives there).
Plant Ford 59 has agreed to take truck. Just waiting of corporate to move it from FL to TX. I live in TX so getting it close to home is good news. Time frame on move is the question now!

Sounds like a manufacturing issue. If it’s under warranty they’ll fix it.

I beat on my tremor, have a 2” level and have been fortunate enough. Did have to get my driver EIWE replaced, but that was my fault. Got too much mud in there.

The latest from Ford is they don’t know when or if it will ship back to TX. Stay away from this company!!!! They must be in real shortage of technical repair staff or cash!!! Sounds like Ford Florida has no availability to repair a vehicle as well. What am I Missing! Being nice has not helped at all.

My problem is when are they going to fix it? 30-45 days plus to look at it is crazy in my opinion.

It took about a month to get a tranny for our Expy here in the NE. We were told they were on a national BO.

Shoot, I may be out 60-90+ days. Hard to comprehend how bad Ford is currently.

You might and it sucks. But I stuck it out for 3 months, granted, my situation my have been different than yours. You’ll survive.

Statistically any of us are bound to get unlucky with something like this, I can attest to being one of those people.

It’s not exclusively a Ford problem either. Be glad you didn’t get a sierra/silverado 1500 with the 10L80. They haven’t addressed the issues with the transmission that Ford did and now they are paying the price. 10Ls arriving in semi truck loads in pallets at GM dealers and they have been on back order for over a year.

You’ll land on your feet. Keep your cool, call Ford customer support; they will compensate you. They gave me a 6 year / 100K mile maintenance policy. Everything is FREE: oil changes, tire rotations, filters, wiper blades, fluids, spark plug service, transmission service, you name it. I don’t have to pay a dime for anything. That’s a $4K-5K value.

Only you can decide is this is worth it. Check your State’s Lemon Law conditions. If you find out it’s going to be 60+ days and it’s not worth waiting, get it bought back.

My brand new Ram 2500 sat for an entire year (13 months) waiting for Ram to swap out the blown Cummins. Welcome to todays parts availability dilemmas. Its worse in the aircraft industry.

😳…..Damn.
Please tell me they helped with your car note or at least gave you a similar vehicle to use at no charge.
I can’t even imagine being in a situation like that especially for such a vehicle that more than likely is used for work.

They bought the truck back after much screaming and beotching. It was a 23 and had 10K miles on it and had been back to the dealer every 500-800 miles for particulate filter issues. It was completely unreliable. Then the engine started ticking and making metal.

I will say this...the new 2026 with the new Cummins design and the ZF trans is amazing. Its sooo much nicer than our Super Duty. (dont ban me!)

Glad to hear that things worked out.
You won’t be banned for having said view about the RAM and the SD.

I’ve never owned a diesel so I can’t speak on which is better. The only thing that I know about the RAM or the SD is that they’re not cheap.🤣

Ford corporate is moving the truck to TX. They will update me again on Friday but they are communicating with my dealer in TX as well. Both have been good to work with as the TX dealer was kind enough to give me his cell number so we text as needed. I am told it won’t take long to move by the dealer receiving the truck in TX. I am about 480 miles from dealer to dealer.

If possible, take some before transport photos. Things happen on the road and I would hate for this situation to get worse for you by not having your trucks condition recently documented.

Smart! Thanks for the tip.

Having been through this before - photos are great, but also get a slowly panned video of the entire truck. The problem with photos is, invariably, you'll miss the one spot that is in question. The slowly panned video will allow you to capture every part of the truck, then pause, zoom in, and screen grab specific portions if you need to later.

Hopefully you won't!

Even better!

The truck made it to Houston on Dec 24!!!! It was radio silence for a few days then it showed up in Houston. Many thanks to corporate for getting it out of FL. If you break down, don’t break down in FL. LOL! Not a joke! Not sure what the problem is in Crestview, FL. I guess they don’t work on out of state Ford vehicles. Is that common? Anyway, once I get details I will post on why the transmission starting leaking fluid and etc.

It seems VERY odd doesn't it?

One of the reason you buy a Ford or Chevy is the large dealer network. I thought it would come in handy if I ever a had a problem out of town. I will need to rethink that strategy.
