402A Deliveries?

Ok, now I'm just getting pissed.

Monday, had the chat with Ford Cust. Serv. They told me: Truck built, no chip hold, awaiting transportation and should be to the dealership 10/21-10/27. This I take as likely BS but, hey, supposedly it's true.

Last night I get an email from Ford that says:

We understand it has been too long since you last heard from us. Just wanted to give you an update on the status of your F-150 Tremor® order. While production of your vehicle was projected to begin the week of September 19, 2022, supply chain challenges continue to cause delays and uncertainty.

This is frustrating, we get it. We want nothing more than to get your Ford up on the line and start assembling it. And we will continue to work hard to reduce the delays to try to get you on the road in your new vehicle soon.

We’ll be sure to keep you updated as we get more information, at least once every 45 days. Hang in there. We really do appreciate your patience and understanding.

So, which is true?

I'm going to my Dealer after work and they will find the real info or I'm going to start the process of finding a Tundra. I've bought Toyotas and they are very good at customer service. I've never had any issues with them but it seems Ford is just lost and if they find it more important to hype a 2023 Super Duty this week than finish the damn trucks they have in the parking lots, well, nothing I can do but spend my money with another brand.
That letter is generic, listen to Fod chat.

They're system is so screwed that the database can't pick up where something's at in the system and not generate something so inaccurate? It's not that complex, my son's a Software developer and he sees things like this all the time and rolls his eyes. Ford is a multi-billion dollar company and has had over hundred years of experience manufacturing. This isn't justified, but, your point is taken. I'm still going to the dealership. Ford needs to hear more from the the dealers and how customers are coming to them for answers.

Customer service and manufacturing systems are not integrated from what I have seen. The older the company, the more likely different legacy systems do not communicate well across functional silos. I have seen some doozies.

I'll happily call myself a Toyota fanboy as I've dearly loved my 4Runners and Tacoma, but things aren't looking much better on that end either, just FYI:

Not to mention you only get a shot at the pick of the litter as opposed to spec'ing it how you want it.

Can't really win in the current market overall unfortunately, unless you are really okay with overpaying for everything.

Yeah, "F" that. Patience is a virtue that adds value to my pocket.

Same. Think I may end up being the furthest drive from Granger on any of the forums that I've seen when the time comes. But no dealers around Seattle would do less than MSRP on orders so I'll happily make a vacation out of picking up the truck.

Only problem is timing the sale of my Tacoma. Would love to do it now for maximum value but if the economy really goes to shit before the truck gets delivered, then I may be out of a truck for the foreseeable future which would be pretty bad. Toying with the idea of driving it all the way to Iowa for the trade which would save a few grand on taxes, but that would be an exhausting round trip...

So typically with a trade in savvy dealers know the tax impaxt and offer you a few thousand less than what your trade in is worth to make it closer to a wash for you selling private party. I have no knowledge on how granger works tradeins but I doubt it's any different.

Tacoma should hold its value much better than than the average used car though, I'd hold on to the Tacoma until your Tremor is ready for pickup.

Yeah, back when Costco pricing was a thing pre-Covid, my new vehicle purchase decisions were based primarily on negotiating trade-in.

If the numbers worked out well enough tax-wise, I'm more than happy to avoid the headache of selling private party. This time around, between the market being absurd and the distance between me and the dealership, it's not as clear of a decision.

I'm Bumped to OCT 18th.. built Aug 12th and parked.

Yep, I'm guessing early November delivery which is crazy. Looking at roughly 10 months from order to delivery. A woman can create life faster than Ford can build my truck.

That’s the timeline I’m thinking too. Current eta to dealer is 10/11-10/17.

My truck got built 9/30 and shipped... definitely not expected.

Any finance wizard have thoughts on picking up the 2022 while I wait for a 2023 and trade in/sell the 2022?

I remember reading you had a 9/29 blend date, that is amazing. How long between the "built" date and shipping out?

Dang that was fast!

I read the e-mail wrong lol, it's built and awaiting shipment. FALSE ALARM, but I just read that the 2023s are now having heated steering wheels and mirrors removed.....

Lol! One step closer though. I also saw the heated steering wheel and mirrors thing. Crazy stuff.

Well it went to awaiting shipment over night all, exciting! Now anyone else have a status change? I am not confident it will get shipped really fast however.

Happy for y'all but this is getting to be some BS.
