A brief word on 2.5" Leveling Kits & CV Angles.

how do we fix the cv joint angle issues? If you get a halo kit and only get 1.5inch lift then why not just get a 1.5 inch cheap spacer?

How do trucks with 6 inch lifts get around this issue?

Sorry I’ve never lifted anything before. I was going to put a 2-2.5 inch coil over on the front but I dont want to cause extra stress on my truck. Im fine with spending the money but I want something that will actually give me the lift in the front that I want. There has to be a better answer.

I’m thinking upgrade the CV axel with some high angle or heavy duty CV axels and then should be perfectly fine putting 2.5in level on it. Could even safely just use spacers maybe?

So Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. I'm running Halo and as you see, I'm lifted, not down on the collar. I have as of today (according to my stats on my Trail app 2,048 Miles of off road trails recorded. Some easy, some hard Lv 1-7 Trails. I check my boots all the time. They are still perfect, no rubbing. Remember guys that on the 21-23 Ford Tremor we got upgraded cv axels and boots. The knuckle is from the Raptor and Ford made our CV Axles just for this truck. Now I'm not saying do as I do but so far after all the abuse my truck has taken, the CV's are doing just fine. I feel this is a non issue as most will never take their trucks to the extreme and most likely the truck will be sold before problems arise with the boots. I do have 35's on the truck. Is this the best angle for a CV? No. But personally (knock on wood) so far this has been a non issue. Just wanted to share my opinion, Oh and sorry for the dirt in the pics! She gets used :)

Do you have part numbers showing the axles are specific to the truck and the knuckles are from a Raptor? This has been a big debate and no one has been able to provide printed proof from Ford.

Thanks! That's 2.5 to 3 over a stock F 150, so 1.5 to 2 over a stock Tremor?
No, don't think so. But I'm not sure..lol Once you change the suspension and A arms you're just a regular F150. The height in the Stock Tremor comes from the A arms and Block. (I think) From the bottom of my running boards I have 17.2 inches of clearance. Hope this helps?

Much appreciated 👍 Thanks for all the info you have shared.

No the Tremor uses what is essentially a shortened Raptor CV. The steering knuckle itself is also off of a Raptor. The upper control arm is “different” only because it uses a different ball joint which I think was borrowed again from the Raptor. I was just getting my foot in the door with Ford Performance so development on Tremor was pretty well over or I’d be able to pinpoint every detail about it

The Raptor line is what FP calls Dessert Runner Tier 1 or DR1. The F-150 Tremor is the first Tier 2 and is known as DR2. It borrowed a small number of things from the DR1. That was really about the extent of it though. This will continue to expand in the following F-150 generation and we will have a Tremor that is equivocal to a true budget Raptor.
you are just bringing all the goodness and info since you joined 2 weeks ago!

THANK YOU for providing desperately needed insight.

Ok after much research of part numbers the Tremor has a unique steering knuckle that is not shared by any other f150, ironically the raptor shares the same part number with the other f150s.

The only difference I see between the raptor and the f150 is the last letter of the part number. I searched several different areas and at the moment that is the most information I can find on them now whether this means anything or not there is the info.

At least there is a part number showing "Tremor", nothing like that was showing up last year. I wonder if they raised the steering mount up ever so slightly to make the steering geometry the same as a stock F-150 to compensate for the lift?

That would be the best guess I could come up with myself, without laying them side by side to compare though I can't say for certain, while I enjoy this forum I don't enjoy it enough to order them all and find out just what the difference truly is. 😁

Some one already did a swap to a normally F-150 on the Gen14 board and this was what it looked like. The steering arm was higher up and the upper ball joint mount was also higher (so overall height was higher.

That would make the steering arm and upper ball joint mount around the stock location relative to the body, while the cv and lower control arm would be (about) 1 inch lower (in relation to the body).

I have a set I'll be swapping over (Lariat), so I hope to get a bit more measurements on them before that happens to compare.

Hey guys - new to the forum. I had the Halo kit installed on my 21 Tremor. I also put 305/70's on the stock 18" rims. The shop that did the install didn't have the equipment to align it. Running into issues now with finding someone to align it. The shop didn't put the camber kit on and Firestone said they wouldn't do that. Found someone that said no problem, but when they plugged it in to align it, it suggested they don't because of the lane assist, etc., and it would be unsafe.. It needs aligned and the camber definitely adjusted.

Has anyone had trouble doing getting theirs realigned after install? Is the camber kit that you buy with the Halo kit really necessary?
