AM Offroad Grille Lights

So the American Modified plug and play harness is apparently NOT water tight. The ford plugs coming off of the lights got corroded to the point where they shut off my high beams - permanently, and then I'm thinking for some reason messed with the plug enough that the marker lamps in between the high and low beams would stay on for 15 mins or so after the truck was off. My dealer, rightly so I guess, did not cover this under warranty, but did get the issue fixed by installing new plugs on the headlights and connecting as done from the factory. The AM Grille lights are still installed, but not connected to anything. I suppose shame on me for not applying dielectric grease at the get go, but the OEM connections didn't have it so i figured it should be good. Now on to fight with AM to see if i can get any sort of warranty out of them.
I'm not surprised with this just based on the quality of the kit. The lights look good when installed, but the housing for the lights basically looked unfinished to me. The grille hides the imperfections that surround the lights, but the light and wiring look like something straight from Temu. Let us know what you hear from AM.

EDIT: Never mind. Seeing now someone is already doing this.

Is anyone running these as just grill marker lights and not sequential turn signals? The sequential seems cool and all but with the issues people seem to be having, I'd love to just wire them into the DRL's or maybe even just an upfitter switch?

I have mine hooked up as DRL and turn signals and haven't really had any issues with the exception of one...on my passenger side, the harness that comes with the set that plugs into the headlight....mine went bad. Maybe some water got into it....I believe that was previously brought up. Since then, all is good. I think as a safe measure, I'm gonna wrap them up in electrical tape.

I do really like the sequential turn but the issues folks have been having with the harness scares me.

I want something different than the marker lights my Rebel had (which people called a fake TRX) and now don't want people accusing me of being a fake Raptor.

I really like the look of the grill lights in this thread and they have a very cool Tremor-look to them. My concern is if I don't do the sequential turns, the grill lights might wash out the turn signals.

As someone previously mentioned, the grill lights are pretty non-existent during a sunny day. You really can only see them during dusk, night time and dawn. They, unfotunately, do not make them brighter. If these were as bright as our DRLs, they would be absolutely perfect. It is what it is.

I appreciate you pointing that out. I might reconsider these. Back to possibly being a "fake Raptor" lol

There's always gonna be someone that calls the Tremor a fake or baby Raptor. Honestly, I couldn't give two shits what anyone else things. I love my Tremor. I'm the one who makes the payments...the only opinion I value is mine. LOL

I agree. I picked up the smoked version from someone on FB marketplace locally. They ordered the wrong set so they were new in the box. I'm contemplating removing them for the 2 isssues mentioned previously.

1. The wiring harness connector that connects to the back of the headlights is extremely tight. Not in a good way though. I think it is just a cheap and poor fitting plastic housing that does not mate well with the factor y connector. My concern would be having to remove them later. After I connected one side, I decided to try disconnecting it and it was extremely difficult.

2. They are non-existent during the day. It really is disappointing. I only pulled the trigger because my son really wanted them to hook to the interior switches. They look pretty cool at night, but I really wish they matched the brightness of the DRL for daytime visibility. They just don't. Unfortunately, I think this product is a miss and they will most likely be getting pulled shortly.

Hey, you're right. Do what you like.

When I got them for my Rebel, it was like 2020 and they weren't that common. By 2024 everyone was calling me a fake TRX lol.

Still looked mean coming down the road.
