Bumper lights write up

Enough people bugging me about my front lights so here’s a write up with an install video, ( the files to large to post and I’m not smart enough to figure it out so dm me and I’ll send it to you) If you don’t have the means to build your own bracket I have a friend in Quesnel B.C. Canada that will be producing these on his plasma table. I used 1-1/2”x1/4 flat bar. If you can read my writing you can steal my design. If you want I can get info on wiring them in.

Thanks for all of this info! I am very interested on doing this on my Tremor as well, probably the cleanest look for lights out there. One question I have though, does your truck have adaptive cruise control? I'm curious if this would work with ACC which I have on my truck, or if I'd have to relocate it.

My truck does not have that so I can’t exactly speak of that but I know @BigEasy44 does and he did a similar light bracket and was able to make it work.

Thanks!

@BigEasy44 if you can help me out with any info on how you did this that would be awesome!
You bet, so what I did was loosen the nut on the backside of the bumper and kinda pop it through so that I could get my flatbar in there.

On the flatbar, I drilled my hole and then used a zip cut to open the end of the flat bar to the hole so that I could just slide it in rather than have to completely remove the nut and put the flatbar over.

However, I used 2 different pieces of flatbar over what @captain lead foot did because I only mounted 2 lights on either side of center

Okay so you were still able to get the flat bar in behind the ACC? As long as I can do that then I should be good to go. I'd love to get the lights right now and get it set up but with Christmas right around the corner I was told I should maybe wait, which sounds like maybe a gift coming my way? 😉

I appreciate the info, makes me think I should be able to get this done! Your set up with the two pods on each side of the center looks awesome! Now I have to decide which way to go.

Yes was able to slide in behind. Still have to drill a hole through the plastic intercooler shroud as mentioned in the OP but I used a 1-1/2” hole saw and worked great.

Awesome! Can't wait to give it go, thanks!

Can you explain how you mounted those? And some pics? Thanks

The bar is mounted vertically on the truck. Not horizontally right? Thanks

Trying to mount three of these!!!

I used 2 piece of flat bar on either side and mounted them to the bumper bolts as you can see. Marked the positions for the lights on the flatbar and drilled holes.
Had to also drill a hole through the plastic shroud piece for the flatbar to come through.

Your best bet to mount 3 lights would be to follow the OP with one piece of flat bar that goes all the way across

I really like what @ Captain Lead Foot did with the lights. Clean look. I was also looking at the Baja Designs and the Diode Dynamics. I really like the behind the grill Baja Designs kit but it is for a Raptor. I think the kit will fit our trucks but the lights would be blocked by the Tremor grill design. We have a bar there. It seems like our shutter design is the same as the Raptor. I did ask Baja Designs on this. They couldn't guarantee fitment but that question has been floated around at their shop. They said I could try and send back if it doesn't fit. All the way to Hawaii and back, shipping can get crazy. I want to keep the Tremor grill and was thinking of just cutting away that bar, leaving it open or adding some sort of plastic mesh. I do not want to go with the Raptor grill or something similar. Anyone know if any non Raptor F-150 attempted this with this kit? Appreciate any feedback.

I also like the Diode SS5 lightbar kit. It doesn't really cut into anything but a little more out there. This would be the easier route. All 3 would give me what I am looking for. Decisions Decisions.

The guy that makes the amber grille lights just made something for behind the grille you might wanna check out it’s a pretty slick setup and I don’t normally love behind the grille options.
