Cobb Radiator Shroud and Scoop with Bracket

Had time to install the COBB shroud, Air scoop and the drop in Air Filter. Overall pretty easy and quick. COBB products are well made and fitment in really good. The bracket for the Air scoop gave me a little fit. Trying to line up that one screw on the left side. Overall happy with the products. Didn't get a chance to really test out yet but hoping for a little improvement with the Livernois Tune. the OEM stock shroud is really flimsy. I am not sure if that effects anything or it is a bad thing but I can see what COBB was thinking after installing all these products. The air scoop inlet is wider on the COBB but the height is the same at 2-1/8" ish. OEM is about 9-1/2" and the COBB an inch more at 10-1/2" width. The COBB is a little thicker at the curve towards the back. I attached photos for all that were interested, and I know were curious to see if the Air Scoop would work with other brands like Roush.
Installed mine today also and fit great except for that left bracket hole like you said. That bracket bends super easy and installing it is tight so it loses its shape a little.
Where did you get those 4 top front Phillips head plastic plugs like they have in their picture? I just have the solid push in OEM plugs.

Those were the OEM ones. Truck came with those and also the solid push plugs. I used them again at the same places as the OEM except for the bottom middle right side center. You lose those bottom spots with the COBB shroud so I just used that one up top. Truck came with both styles for whatever reason. Maybe Ford cost cutting or something. 🤷‍♂️. For the rest I just used the ones that COBB provided.

Thanks for the comparison pics! Knew was a little bigger when I installed.

Overflow on backorder but radiator shroud came in and installed stupid easy. Definitely see what they were going for after handling the OEM shroud...lord that thing is floppy. For the price, even if its for looks, ain't mad

Alright y'all, finally got home and installed the shroud and intake bracket....f*ck that bracket. Idk if it was just me, but it was way more of a pain in the ass then y'all made it seem. I literally had to use a wood clamp to hold it in place so I could get the bolt in.

@Dfris ~ awesome dfris keeping it real! Post a pis showing it installed. Waiting for raptor lights, FORD light and the amber tremor light from @Cblaxx19 before I install the COBB products. Do it all in one shot, I am sure I will have some mutha f*#* bombs as well. :ROFLMAO:

Yeah man, that's def a full weekend of bourbon and cursing everything under the sun lol.

Here's the finished product for ya. I already had the coolant cover (and disregard the mind numbing amount of pollen for February).

Huge pain lol. I opened up the hole size on the top bracket to get things lined up. It looses it's shape so easy trying to get it into position then you're screwed.

Finally got around to installing the Cobb Shroud and Scoop Bracket yesterday. Had a little bit of trouble fastening the left side of the bracket as others have mentioned. Realizing the lower bracket was slightly misaligned, I just used a screwdriver as a lever to move it into alignment with the hole in the frame. After that I was able to run the fastener down into the threads without issue.

Just a heads up. I did the same thing when I originally installed mine. You can see my pic. I just had time to correct it the other day. I was putting it off cause of that dam left side bolt for the bracket . I am just going off the photo you attached. There are those 4 bolts in the middle of the shroud. It is easy to overlook cause the shroud fits perfect without removing those bolts and the directions don't really specify. When you do add those 4 bolts, it does secure the shroud a lot better and really pins it down. I attached photos I got from the COBB website I circled the bolts.

Notice at 4:00 when he removes the factory cover, those bolts are below it. I've found when doing things, it's a good idea to check several sources. Sometimes, they leave things out they feel are obvious but not to all of us.

I agree. I think another reason too is you don't actually remove those bolts with the OEM shroud.

Yeah, I noticed that too after I completed the install but it was too cold out for me to care :ROFLMAO: I'm considering getting the Cobb intake scoop so I'll just correct it then.

Thanks for keeping me honest @808 Tremor :ROFLMAO:. I went back and corrected the shroud. You're absolutely right on the fitment. Mounting the shroud with the factory bolts is definitely a much more solid installation. I'm going to wait for Cobb's next sale to pickup the scoop.

Nice info! That COBB scoop is pricey! What does it go on sale for? Do you think the performance is that much better or at all? Or is just for looks?

Thanks @KewTremor33, Cobb tends to give a 10%-20% off deal around the holidays. Hoping they'll have a sale for Memorial Day. If not then, maybe on the 4th! The scoop is essentially just a cosmetic upgrade
