Current Mileage & Updates from some of you OG's

Just turned 12k on my 2025, 3k of that towing a camper. 3rd oil change is scheduled (normally do 5k intervals but did the last one early at 8300 before what was expected to be a 3000 mile road trip, turned out to be 3300 miles with 2850 of it towing) along with the dash recall software update. Had the brake booster recall done last oil change.

I really wish they didn't inundate you with so much crap at startup. 90% of the time I'm not quick enough to select yes, I want to stay in tow/haul mode because of all the other crap that pops up. It's worse than visiting a bad website 20 years ago with all the popups.

Like what? I only get asked if I wish to return to the last mode...and that's only if it wasn't on Normal

Top of my head, towing crap mostly, 3-4 thing that you need to hit ok but they pop up over the return to tow/haul mode selection and it times out before you can get back to it. I'll try to pay more attention next time I tow.

57k on my '21. 2.5" puck level, 35's on OEM wheels, a Livernois tune installed as soon as it was available, and all the normal forscan mods. I just started getting the hard, clunky downshift issue intermittently. Reverse doesn't seem to engage right away if I let the truck sit for 5 days or so ( It spends a lot of time in airport parking lots) If I get in, start the truck and immediately throw it in reverse and hit the gas there's a 2ish second delay where the engine revs but nothing happens, then it seems to catch up and works as normal afterwards. I've had the front drivers window switch replaced after it started intermittently not rolling up the window, drivers IWE replaced and they messed it up, its going in again. Other than that I broke the plastic strip on the skidplate doing some mild rock crawling, a tasca ford parts order and a can of Ingot silver duplicolor and its as good as new! I've had gen 11,12,13 and this 14th gen is my absolute favorite!

66k on my 2022.

Currently on:
Bilstein 8112 fronts and 8100 rears with Icon UCA's and Deaver L84HD
Ford Performance Tune and SVC Intercooler
Titan Wheels with 34" Nitto TG3's
Misc. other items

Biggest issues have been the with the AC (fan speed, hot air, turning on and off) and I have had the valve body replaced after the truck slammed from 1st to 8th when leaving my driveway at ~58k miles. The truck was also mis-built from factory and did not come with the standard upfitter switches. After a months of back and forth with the dealer and service who told me they were not standard they finally tried to install them and could not get them to work. Ended up just purchasing a Spod system.

Regarding the AC, this has been the most annoying thing. Dealer always said its performing as it should, but its more of a long drive issue. All of a sudden the fan would be blowing much harder or the AC would stop blowing cold. When its "cold" out by California standards (less than 50F), I have to drop the temperature settings to low or turn on the AC to not just get really hot air through the vents. There was an open TSB for this exact issue, but took 3 service visits before they would actually try it out. It did help, but will get the random rush of air on a long drive. Seems to be somewhat common in the forums, wish there was a solid fix.

The transmission issue is well documented as well. Honestly, it's frightening and a massive safety concern. If my truck had skipped gears like that just a block away from my house where I have to cut across traffic with a speed limit of 50, I would be a sitting duck. I now just make a right into traffic to drive a bit further down to make a U turn. Have a 1 year old, so this is the safest option anyways.

Overall, its a great truck. Looks great, interior is awesome. Its the little things like the flat rear floor that just make it so much more usable than other trucks. Just wish they could sort out some of the known issues.

Update: Replaced the driver side wheel bearing at 67k

23 with just over 36k. Had to have the ball joints on the UCAs replaced at just under 20k miles. I had the dealer install a 2" level when I purchased, so not sure if that helped the ball joints fail early, or honestly if they even needed replacing. They were replaced for free so I just went with it.

I currently have the ambient light in the drivers door flashing. Picking up that new part today and hoping that solves that issue. Other than that everything has been good. Have had plenty of rattles, just like my other F150s and other vehicles, and just like on those other vehicles, when I notice a rattle I fix it myself, usually by placing some foam or sound deadening material behind the panel that is rattling. Between that and greasing the moonroof seals 2x per year I keep the rattles to a min.

Haha, 2022 just crossed 30k miles. I need to take it in for the slip yoke to be greased and a rattle in my dash that sounds like it is coming from the a pillar area on the driver side. Otherwise she has been trouble free.
The rattle sound in the dash ended up being the hood stop on the left side needing to be twisted a bit higher so it matched the other side of the truck, rattle is gone.

Love when its a simple fix like that

I have the dash rattle...Cannot for the life of me pinpoint it.
It is the hood bump stop on the driver side if we are talking about the samenthing. Twist it to raise it up making it level with the passenger side.

Tried that...both are tight.
Not that they are tight but that they are the same height from left to right. I had to extend my driver side to match the passenger side. Did that this week and the rattle sound from the dash is gone. I learned this on the gen14 forum as others had chased the same thing down and this solved for them as well.

So i've been having that Transmission issue as well. I notice when I go to work in the morning, I let the truck warm up until it idles down, I put in in Drive, and take my foot off the brake thinking my truck will have enough power to start moving. I give it some gas and it is like a second or two before it takes off. I though maybe the brakes sticking a little first thing in the morning, but who knows.
Mine is a 25' with about 5500 miles now and other than the whining from the transmission that apparently is "normal", Ive been happy.
I need to take it in for the 2 recalls so maybe I will have them check the transmission is nothing else but to document it. I would love for them to change out the fluid all together just to get a new baseline since I dont trust these come from the factory with the right fluid levels.

I have a 22 with 36,000 miles. I usually drive my Jeep on weekends. No real problems except changing out the battery for a H7. Wish I would receive more software updates though. It's way behind. I've had 7 Fords and this one is my favorite.

'23 and 42000 miles. Lots of mods. Trouble free so far. Hasn't been back to the dealer since I bought it (knock on wood).

On the last tire rotation and brake pads appeared to have at least half their life remaining.

The window bounce back hasn't happened since the last few software updates.
