Just got these installed. Damn Ford screwed up the oranges on these trucks. I was hoping the color would match the decal on the side. Instead it matches the tailgate "Tremor" emblem. I was planning on having a body shop try and paint the emblem. Now I am not sure what to do. These are a bright yellow, more like the tow hooks than the burnt orange on the side decal. Probably going to take the tailgate stickers off. Bummer.

Is that the updated orange one from VIP or the previous one?
I dont think it looks good. I have the updated orange one, hopefully doesn't look like that or I'm not installing it lol.

Any chance you have a straight on photo of the decal? In the photo it doesn't look like it matches either the bedside decal or the tailgate emblem (which leads me to think that it's just an outright defective unit that slipped through the cracks). The photo(s) below are what they should look like as far as color match goes. In addition, the bedside decals are by far the most inconsistent when it comes to color. We color matched the updated color to match the seat piping in the upgraded interior, the grille orange, and the front side fender vents.
In any case we'll make it right, but I want to make sure first that a defective print isn't the culprit here! (Special thanks to the forum and Facebook members that provided these on-vehicle photos)!

Yeah that looks more like it. So, ultimately when we color matched our decals, we did it on the orange that was most prevalent on the truck. That being the side fender emblems, seat piping, and grille line. All of those have a metallic flake which gives it a different color sheen depending on the lighting. The OEM bedside decal is as far as a color match perspective, more of a copper than an orange gold like everywhere else on the truck. Depending on the lighting and angle of the photo it may look more or less accurate to the orange(s) on the Tremor.
Our logic was "we can't match the orange everywhere else AND the bedside decal since they're completely different," (especially since the bedside decal is matte and everything else is gloss). So, you are absolutely correct, it doesn't match the bedside decal orange but that is by design. If it did match the bedside decal orange (which was the original product plan), then it wouldn't match any other orange parts on the truck.
Ultimately if you want it to match the bedside decal and not the other orange painted parts, we might still have inventory of that original batch, but I won't know till tomorrow morning. If you'd rather have that option AND if we have it available, fill out this form for us and we'll do what we can to make sure you're satisfied!

Filled out the form. Hate to be a problem. I am happy to pay for replacements if you have any leftover even if it black with the orange border. When looking at the pictures above of the three versions, are all those the same orange. The black truck with complete orange inlay looks like the perfect color. The silver truck with the black and "orange" border looks like a different border color. It looks yellow or gold. In fact, JeffB posted "Here is my iconic silver with the black with GOLD trim". My iconic silver picture posted on the forum looks gold or yellow also. It does not match the side emblems, front grille or stitching in my opinion. I know we have been emailing also to try and figure this out but maybe your first reaction was right that this was a printing error that slipped through. Just look back at the three pictures you posted as the right colors and verify those are all the same color. Maybe other members see what I see and maybe not. Im interested it their thoughts.

Hey there! So as I mentioned before, the decals look slightly different depending on the lighting conditions. This is ultimately the same reason the the three photos above look like different shades (as well as the ones on our website). For example the first photo was taken in the shade which makes the color appear more darkened than the others. In the middle photo there is direct sunlight on various parts of the truck which gives off an entirely different color depending on the shade or sun. And the last photo was taken with no shade or direct sunlight hitting. The same can be shown in the first and second photo you provided.
Based on the second photo, and confirming the print date we don't believe there was a misprint error, and that the color you received is true to the products intention. Like we had discussed we're happy to send out some of our original batch inventory which is a darker orange, but similarly it will look different based on the lighting conditions. We're happy to work out a solution with you if the older prints aren't satisfactory, but it appears the color you received is the correct color.
We definitely won't argue that it looks different in the first photo provided, but in the straight on photo the color match appears accurate to our intentions. Like I said though, if this kit and our original kit we agreed to send out doesn't satisfy you then we're happy to make the situation right

Hey there! We don't explicitly say it matches the tailgate "tremor" emblem since we swatched the fender vent, seat piping, and grille, but the color is a very close match to the tailgate tremor emblem (which you can see here in the photos on our website). Because of how small the lettering is compared to the side vents, front grille, and seat piping we opted to swatch match those instead knowing that it was a very close match to the tailgate emblem.
We're just trying to be transparent with how we did our color match (though it does match the tailgate emblem closely, we don't want to explicitly claim it since we didn't take that specific swatch in our sample). Hope that makes sense, and we're happy to answer any other questions!

Have you guys put thought into new bedside decals? It would be awesome to replace the factory with ones that are more color-matched to the rest of the truck. I've seen some cool designs, and am sure you guys can come up with something awesome! Bonus points if you could include some Graboids or Ass Blasters...Burt Gummer would approve.
