Elka 2.5DC / Halo stage 3

Hello thank you for the question! The Tremor Stage 1 kit can be adjusted while it is installed on the truck. With the Stage 2 and Stage 3 kits, that has the external reservoir, they do need to be adjusted PRIOR to installation...or taken out, adjusted, and reinstalled. This is due to the reservoir hose, as it interferes with the adjustment of the collar.

If you would like to see it done, you can go to our HaloLifts YouTube channel, and we do have a video explaining how to adjust the coilovers.

Please let me know if you have any other questions!

Thank you,
Kevin
Thank you for the clarification - FYI, I copied the text I posted from your website from the Stage 3 Kit page, You may want to consider revising the wording so it's clear.

What are the new springs rates on the new adjustable 2.5’s? Thanks
I will have to see if ELKA changed any of that. I will see what I can find out and keep you posted.

We will look into that! We appreciate it!

I have not made anymore adjustments since the original install. I have gotten the compression dialed in. I will go ahead and post my adjustments this afternoon when I get home. I do have the SPC control arms and I think they are well worth it. They allow the adjustment of the tire in the wheel well on all three axis. Without them i think the tire would be to far in the wheel well also they allow more droop and room between the strut and uca.
So you are still sitting at 1.75" of lift since you said you added two turns from what came out of the box?

I was hoping to get mine in last weekend as we had abnormally warm temps here in CO, but when I went to rinse off the suspension to get rid of all the grime from the snow, I noticed grease coming from the driver, outer CV boot. So I'm waiting for the new axle to come in at the dealer so they can warranty it. I didn't want to install my suspension and them blame the lift. Sad the truck only has 23K on it, hasn't been wheeled heavily and I already have a torn CV boot. How it happened, no idea.

Likely the crappy CO roads and pot holes.

Yes I have not made the adjustments yet. I do recommend making them prior to installing the struts though as the lines for the res are not easy to work around. My settings are Front low -5 high -6 Rear low-7 high -8 with no weight in the bed.

Hey Guys,
I have installed the 2,5 dc struts last week and lost 4cm of lift compared to my 2,0 ipf kit i had on .
The preload ring is 11/12 threads down and the manual states not to go down more . My fender is sitting 100cm from the ground .
My truck is on 315/70r17 so thats about a inch hight from the tire . So think i have lost all lift . Anyone have this issue ?

I had to replace my driver's side half-shaft at 2000 miles - same issue.

That is crazy...2000 miles? That's unacceptable. Even with any type of level, it shouldn't leak that fast. Whats crazy as they already told me the minute I lift the front, they won't warranty anything. And I'm only planning to go 1.5-1.75" lift.

Yeah, I wasn't too thrilled about it being brand new, but no manufacturing process is perfect, glad to have a warranty.

Any one else have any issues with getting warranty schock after buying the 2,5dc with no lift ? Eve from halo did confirm that the schocks are faulty after some time that I am the owner to Elka due to me importing the schocks from a other party but them buying from halo . then got 1 e-mail from Jerome at Elka and then silence . Sent multiple e-mails and stil nothing . This has been going on for about 2 months almost . And realy sucks . The only answer I get from halo is that warranty is thru elka and there hands are tied . Ok but seems bit easy to sell faulty stuff and not have to back with warranty even tho they say this in the video’s on YouTube . Any one experiancing the same ?

I hope you’re able to get this resolved without costing you anything but, I have a bad feeling that you might have to bite the bullet and buy another shock out of pocket.

Being that you’re in Belgium and you imported said shocks from another party that probably isn’t on Elkas authorized list, the warranty might not apply.

I think you should’ve first contacted the company who imported them for you and see what they say about the warranty.

Good luck to you.

I did buy them straight from halo . Just with someone in between to send the parts over to Europe . Halo did not have the option to send direct and neither elka . Eve from halo even confirmed to Jerome from Elka that I am the owner and that they need to warranty . I have this on e mail . So they should not even think about not warrantying . I would even accept having to pay to get them shipped over to here . But just no answer is quite low . This is already my second pair that i buy from halo and Elka and if this is how they treat returning customers . Rest assured this will be the last dollar or euro I will give to these companys .

We have multiple calls and emails out to Elka regarding this. These are not faulty, Elka had miss measurements and that is why the warranty emails went out to customers who bought directly from us, because we had record of it. Elka is the one who has to deal with this to get you replacements, because it is under their warranty. Please send me a message or send us an email at [email protected], and I can send you another reps email address, so that hopefully you can get quicker responses than what you have been experiencing. We understand the frustration around this whole situation. Did you fill out Elka's warranty claim form, to get the warranty process going for replacements?

I have to ask, seeing that you are Belgian, do you speak French? Elka is based in Quebec (french speaking Canadian province). Maybe they will answer you faster in French. Might be stupid but give that a try lol.

I’m from the flemish part of belgium we speak Dutch . But I can explaine myself in french 😅. Doubt it will help tho . Stil nothing 2 weeks on from my last post . Halo said I was going to be contacted by a Patrick from Elka . Still waiting …. Have a feeling i’m going to be stuk with these shocks . Don’t get me wrong they ride great just sucks they have very little lift compared to my 2.0 ipf shocks . 60 cm from center hub on the 2.0 it was 64 . Anyone know if i could try to increase the preload .? I’m at 11 threads and the manual says not to go more …

That’s hard to say, you can have a 550 spring but if the shock valving is on the stiff side it will still ride like shit. That’s the reason I went with the 2.5’s from accutune, my setup is actually valved a bit lighter than the fox 2.0’s but with the high and low speed settings your able to adjust to your liking. I’m not to sure how the elka 2.5’s come setup out of the box but if the valving is were it needs to be than the 650 spring should be ok.
When I emailed AccuTune, they told me that Fox wouldn’t fit a Tremor. In fact, they said none of their shock offerings would fit. Did something change?

They actually do fit but don’t provide as much lift on the tremor. The 3.0’s will give about an 1” more of lift out of the box and the 2.5’s will raise it closer to 1.5” but you can adjust preload some to go higher if needed.

Accutune is being a bit short sighted. I had a similar conversation with them. They do not like to lift F150s over the stock height because of bump steer and alignment issues.

But the Tremor knuckle corrects these and Icon and Bilstein have proven that 1.5-2" over stock Tremor height is ok.
