F150 Tremor FORScan

Does using FORSCan void the warranty? Are there any risks in using it?

Where do you get 2.3.44?

I only see 2.3.43 and I’m having trouble writing some of the modules
I will send you a PM momentary.

Note to all: There was a typo in my original post for changes to enable Glare Free Adaptive Lighting. Now edited for correctness.

Please ensure 734-01-01 = xxxx xx01

This avoids any error / DTC messages. Sorry about that.

If you stick to known "good" changes there should be no effect on your warranty. You are essential just enabling features that already exist within to truck. You can change them back before a dealer visit if you so choose. Now if you enable something that doesn't exist and set a DTC or don't back up your original numbers and forget what you changed the dealer is not going to help you fix it under warranty.

To deny warranty legally they must prove what you did caused the specific issue they are denying. Use some caution and you will be good. Always make backups of your as-built before making any changes.

Thanks Robb1! Do you know how we can confirm if the adjusting headlamps are active on a 402a? Even after the FORSCan how can we confirm?

For a US delivered 402A you get adaptive driving beams (lights move with the steering wheel) and Auto High beams (high beams turn completely off when another vehicle is detected).

The changes I mentioned earlier in this thread activate the glare free high beam feature that comes standard on Canadian delivered trucks. Take a drive at night with the default setup, then make the changes and go for a drive. The difference is significant. You will know it is working.

The high beams will now dim, dip, or divert to avoid other cars dynamically, while still providing light in areas where it doesn't effect other drivers.

I can 100% confirm it works on my truck (402A) and I do not get "flashed" by other drivers.

So I just made these changes and went for a drive. The highbeams will dim for on coming traffic. But my adaptive lights seem to have stopped working. They don't turn with the steering wheel, and they don't dip or divert for oncoming traffic.

They definitely still do their "dance" when I turn the truck on, but I also get a "check headlamp" error now when I fire the truck up.

Any idea what's going on here?

Just responded to your PM with some Canadian as-built info. Let me know if that doesn't work and we can try and dig a little deeper to figure out what is different on your truck. I have a running thread over on the 14gen forum and I have been able to get it sorted out for several different truck configurations. Hopefully we can get you sorted as well. You will be the first Canadian truck attempt I believe since its normally already active.

Some of the Forscan versions have trouble writing certain modules. They are still working some of the kinks out for the 2021. It is a little hit and miss as they release new versions right now.

OBDLink MX+
Forescan 2.3.44 works.
Robb1,

I have an OBDLink EX & FORScan v2.3.43, can I still make the glare free change to my 402(a)?

I attempted it tonight, but the HCM only took 83% & now my auto headlamps doesn’t work……

Thanks Robb1 🍻

Can’t wait to try this out! Thanks again, Robb1

@Robb1 I have followed all of these steps and it seems to be working (though I’m not positive) but the settings menu still says auto high beams instead of glare free lighting. Did I miss something?

The APIM needs to power cycle (fully) once or twice before the menu changes. It stays powered for awhile after the ignition is off even though the screen is off. The quickest way to cycle it is to go to the wrench icon in FORScan and reset the APIM or holding volume down and track forward on the steering wheel for several seconds.

If the changes where done correctly glare free should replace the auto high beams.

My cheap Gateway Laptop arrived for using Forscan on the truck. I made some adjustments without any problems.

1. Set Bambi Mode (Fog lights stay on when brights are on)

2. Enabled Digital Temps for Transmission and Coolant.

I may add global windows up/down via the remote later.
Can Forscan set the rear door window switches to one touch? It's a total pet peeve of mine, my work car is a base 2017 Escape, had a window sticker of $22k, and even that has one touch rear windows, just really surprised that a 402A doesn't have the feature.

I love this thread. Thanks for putting this together, guys.

I did some poking around today and could not find anything. I will continue to research, but it’s not looking good.

The thing I'm interested in is the pro power and if there are any potions with that.

Is there a thread showing the 401a options or will the same ones be available as above? Minus the headlight steering.
