F150 Tremor FORScan

alright newbie to the whole forscan thing so have a couple dumb questions...

we are an IOS family but work laptop let me download the free software. do i need to pay for any licenses once i get my hands on a cord?

the one link says don't use the cords that say they are for for scan and in the OG post it says use this for scan cord. is this cord the one i should get?

That's the one I got, no truck yet though. The main link on the OP also has info about the licenses - you can renew the free one every few months or you can pay like 5-20 bucks for a 1-3 year license something like that, so you don't have to renew it every few months (this is what I'll probably do)

I have a new one for the crew:

Auto Heated and Cooled seats.

This will adjust the heating and cooling of the seats automatically based on internal truck temp and selected climate control temp. You retain the ability to manually control via the buttons. You also get a on center screen indicator of you selection and whether you are in auto mode or not.

You need auto climate control and heated / cooled seats for this to work. I have only tested on my 402A.

Note: I just sorted this mod out tonight and did some brief testing. Everything seems to work well, but I haven't completed long-term testing, your mileage may vary. It works well.

Preform a module reset via the wrench icon on the APIM after writing both changes.

If you only have heated seats does this not work then?

It probably will if you have the auto climate control, but since I have only tested on a 402A I can't say for sure. The two changes are just enabling Auto mode, nothing that specifies the seat configuration itself.

My Forscan unit arrives soon so I'm excited to try out some of these mods. Thank you for sharing all the work!

It's cold 8 months a year here why would I need cooled seats? 🤣
I feel this way about heated seats in Miami lol. Cooled seats much looking forward to.

Yeah it's dry heat up here, if I was in Miami I'd want cooled everything haha.

I have made a few FORScan mods to date and have been testing additional mods for the Tremor specifically. I have enabled the digital gauges, bambi mode, auto start / stop disable and most recently enabling Glare Free / Adaptive driving lights.

I have completed the testing and confirmed error free operation for the glare free / adaptive adaptive beams. For those not aware the 402A (sorry everyone else) is equipped with adaptive driving beam capable head lights. Unfortunately they are disabled in the US trucks due to some outdated laws manufactures are limited by. Our friends in Canada and Europe get the more advanced system active by default, while we are stuck with auto high beams instead.

This is a slightly more complex FORScan mod due to multiple modules involved, but fairly simple once you are familiar with FORScan. Please backup you modules before making changes!

For those interesting in enabling this cool tech here are the as-built changes required (402A ONLY):

In the list below do not change the values in your as-built represented by "x"

Glare Free Menu (replaces Auto High beam) in APIM:
7D0-09-01 x1xx xxxx
7D0-09-03 xxCx xxxx
Note: a module reset in FORScan or power cycle is required for the menu to appear.

So, I tried this and I have no idea if it worked or not. I triple checked all the codes as I entered them and all seemed ok. I went for a drive after and my auto high beams didn’t turn on but I didn’t notice anything else different with my lights. Is there a menu setting or something I need to look for?

After the changes you should have a Glare Free toggle under the lighting settings on the center screen.

The headlight switch needs to be in auto. You should see a green headlight indicator with an A, indicating the system is active.

The system uses the camera, so if you are driving in bright city environment you are not going to see it activating.

I didn’t see the glare free option in the menu. I will check again this morning. When you finish each module to you cycle the ignition or do you just do it once at the end? Maybe that was my mistake, I just made all the changes and cycled the ignition once it was all done.

For the APIM you need to do a module reset with forscan. This is a forced power cycle since the APIM remains powered even with the ignition off. Go to the wrench icon in forscan and preform the APIM module reset and the menu should appear.

It is a common “issue” when making APIM changes.

if the truck has been sitting long enough it may now be there as well. I just takes a very long time for the APIM to power down naturally

I checked this morning and it is now showing up in the menu. Just needed to be patient. Thanks for the tip on the APIM, I’ll do that next time.

Started with my first change. Something simple, the double horn honk when the fob leaves a running truck.
In my case, I had the truck running (because 18 degrees) and when the module reset, my pro power tripped.
PSA, be dumb and dumb things will happen.

When you first fire up forscan and it asks if you would like to use a previous profile, click no.

Guys sorry if this was already addressed-
But can anyone confirm if making these adjustments will affect the warranty? I know the dealership/Ford can deny warranty for any reason. But, has anyone had any issues with getting warranty while having these mods?
