What's new

F150 Tremor FORScan

The thing I'm interested in is the pro power and if there are any potions with that.
What would you like to do with pro power? Silence that jet engine…I mean fan in the back?

There is a TSB for that and it is a “software” update. I did it myself a few days ago with FDRS. It does make changes to the as-built and that maybe all it does, but it quiets it down. Much better now.

I can run a pre update and post update comparison of both as-built and calibration. If the changes are only as-built I can supply the changes necessary to everyone.

Is there a thread showing the 401a options or will the same ones be available as above? Minus the headlight steering.
Everything discussed in the thread should work for you Except the glare-free headlight mod (which has been the majority of the discussion). Unfortunately the 401A has completely different headlight hardware which to my knowledge is not capable.

For the pro power, I need to learn what configuration options there are to see if there are things like battery size, power output controls/safeties, etc. Things that push the intelligent and safe use of forscan.

So do I have to pay hundreds of $$ to get the FDRS to update it myself? Is there not a way to get a free software update?

Sure thing. As soon as get a little quite time around here I will do the comparison and let everyone know what I find.

No not at all. I just happen to have the required interface and the cost of a 2 day license for FDRS to update everything that has a module update available was worth it to me vs. a dealer visit. This being one of the updates that was important to me.

you can take it to the dealer and complain about the fan noise. They will preform the following TSB / SSM:

Manufacturer Communication Number: SSM 50167

Summary

Some 2021 F-150 vehicles equipped with a 2.0kW Pro Power Onboard inverter system and built on or before 22-Nov-2021 may experience a loud fan noise emitting from under the rear seat. This may be due to various software parameters in the direct current/alternating current converter module A (DCACA). A 2.0kW Pro Power Onboard inverter system is identified by: DCACA inverter assembly being located in the cabin under the rear seat on the left side of the vehicle. To correct the condition using the latest level of Ford Diagnosis and Repair System (FDRS), reprogram the DCACA module. For claiming use causal part number 19G317 and applicable labor times from Section 10 of the Service Labor Times Standard (SLTS) Manual.

It may just be as-built changes however which we might be able to accomplish via forscan.

Edit to add: It could in theory be rolled out in a OTA, but who knows if and when that will come down the pipe.

To date I haven’t seen any mapping for the DCACA module that controls propower. We can see the as-built settings with forscan, but currently have no idea what they do specifically. I hope in the future we have more info to work with which may open the doors to some mods.

Following up on the pro power noisy fan:
I preformed the update from SSM 50167 on the DCACA module using FDRS (the same thing the dealer would do). The image below is the pre-update values (blue) vs. the post update values (green). In addition to the as-built changes the calibration also changes. Most likely the calibration enables the additional as-built values that were added. However, if someone is willing to be a guinea pig and test the as-build using forscan on a non-updated truck to see if it quiets the fan noise it may help other members avoid a dealer visit.

I have made a few FORScan mods to date and have been testing additional mods for the Tremor specifically. I have enabled the digital gauges, bambi mode, auto start / stop disable and most recently enabling Glare Free / Adaptive driving lights.

I have completed the testing and confirmed error free operation for the glare free / adaptive adaptive beams. For those not aware the 402A (sorry everyone else) is equipped with adaptive driving beam capable head lights. Unfortunately they are disabled in the US trucks due to some outdated laws manufactures are limited by. Our friends in Canada and Europe get the more advanced system active by default, while we are stuck with auto high beams instead.

This is a slightly more complex FORScan mod due to multiple modules involved, but fairly simple once you are familiar with FORScan. Please backup you modules before making changes!

For those interesting in enabling this cool tech here are the as-built changes required (402A ONLY):

In the list below do not change the values in your as-built represented by "x"

Glare Free Menu (replaces Auto High beam) in APIM:
7D0-09-01 x1xx xxxx
7D0-09-03 xxCx xxxx
Note: a module reset in FORScan or power cycle is required for the menu to appear.

Just Finished doing this, thank you!! This is awesome! Had a nice hour and a half night drive with mixed backroads, city, and highway. Anti Glare headlights are AWESOME!!

Great! Happy to hear you are enjoying it.

New mod for those interested:

Add Offroad pitch and roll IOD.
IODs are the display cards on the right side of the center display / touch screen.

Where are you in NC?

Nice. I plan to buy Forscan tool when my truck arrives. Now I know who to call if I screw it up
Happy to help if you run into any trouble. You are going to like the truck. Hopefully you get your order quick!

Thanks, I am excited. March is the estimate.

Can Forscan set the rear door window switches to one touch? It's a total pet peeve of mine, my work car is a base 2017 Escape, had a window sticker of $22k, and even that has one touch rear windows, just really surprised that a 402A doesn't have the feature.
My wife’s escape same thing. My loaded Lariat only front two. Doesn’t make any sense.
