Ford Performance Rear Differential Cover

The cover is for a Second Gen Ford Raptor. You could get different blocks and leaf springs that would change the angle of the pinion. The top hole would still be factory fill when rotated.

The silvers lines are the Trail Turn Assist, they came wrapped that way.
Is there a way to tell if my angle is changed with my lift? I think you have the same lift as I do also, so I would assume no?

The BDS blocks do not moved it as much as a tapered block. Your diff cover should be straight up and down from the factory or close to it. Looking at it from the driver side the pinion would be at 9 o’clock. With a tapered block it would be at 10 o’clock. Making the fill hole move from 3 o’clock to 4 o’clock. Putting the extra hole in the new diff covers back at 3 o’clock. Does that make sense? It’s probably not exactly at those angles but for reference.

Oh I see. So the actual differential would be shifted at an angle if that was the case? I believe my diff cover is at a vertical line top to bottom, I'll have to have another look

Yes, the extra hole is not for more fill volume, but I have seen Raptor guys fill to the top hole and put in a temp prob in the bottom hole.

Are the part #s correct? I'm going to buy the ford performance cover.

Sorry to resurrect an old post - just saw that we cannot drain and fill our rear differential, so three questions.
1. For a stock Tremor, are we to use the lower fill point?
2. How much of a pain in the ass was it to install (removal of whatever stock gasket)?
3. Any regrets going this route over any other that may be out there?

I had the Spicer diff cover (exact same as the Ford Performance branded cover except for the badge, and half the cost) on my first gen Raptor. It looked good until the paint peeled and the cast iron underneath started rusting. For my Tremor, I'll be picking up the Mag Hytec cover....pricier...but aluminum and much higher fluid capacity. Plus has a built in dipstick!

Huh? Oh right....the Banks hype about aftermarket diff covers, right before he came out with one.

I'll be just fine...Lol

Nope but okay.

Camdenn is right, albeit it pains me a little to admit that. WATCH the Banks flat back diff cover video... it is compelling. I got the Ford Performance cover coming in and I'm sure as soon as I put it on, and only when it's installed, then Banks will announce they are releasing their air-cooled cover for the 9.75... I just know it but I've got to tow a Range Rover (On a Diamond C trailer (with the rock shield) to MT soon... goin with what I can get now.

I'm waiting for the Banks myself.

Finally installed the Ford Performance cover today...

3, 2, 1 and Banks will announce they're offering an air-cooled one for the Tremor some time this week

Just found that video, was very interesting

Does anyone offer a cooling cover for the front Diff?

You can get the Raptor R front cover for the official route. Some people have had success with various 8.8 covers though clearance is very limited. I do believe there are some aftermarket covers specifically for that application though. I have the R cover on my list of to-do's. Meant to get that done last weekend but got tied up with the transmission cooler mod I did. Link to the R cover below, you'll also need to get longer bolts, they're 5/16-18 thread and 1.41 inches long on the OEM one, but 1.25" long ARP ones are long enough. The OEM bolts are $18 each unfortunately.

Nice.
I wouldn’t worry about that too much.
If BANKS hasn’t come out with one already, they probably never will.
If you ask me, I don’t think they could keep up with the demand from current F150 / 1/2 ton market without sacrificing their quality standards but I could be wrong.

Anybody on here install one of these.

If so do you like it?

Thanks

Btw just had my BDS 6” lift kit installed w 2.5 Fox Performance Elite coilovers. This thing absorb bumps, potholes, drops like nothing. It’s buttery smooth and super sweet all around. I’m very happy with it. Here’s a few if those pics.
Looks really good ! Let us know how that Lift works out for you !! Who installed the Lift? Was it New when you got it?

Buddy is figures he will get a Spicer/Ford Performance cover to fit the front. Im anxiously waiting the results. I’ve got a Spicer Rear cover for my Tremor waiting to go on from my 17 Lariat.

Was going to do this today but have a level 3 plantir fascia tear that happened yesterday. Getting older isn't for sissies though my planter fascia has been bothersome for seven months and I continued to lift heavy on leg day. My fault.

No scratches or defects in the Spicer diff cover, quality looks great. Replacing the OEM bolts with these 5/16-18x1 grade 8 bolts due to the thicker diff cover versus OEM.
