Ford Performance Rear Differential Cover

Was going to do this today but have a level 3 plantir fascia tear that happened yesterday. Getting older isn't for sissies though my planter fascia has been bothersome for seven months and I continued to lift heavy on leg day. My fault.

No scratches or defects in the Spicer diff cover, quality looks great. Replacing the OEM bolts with these 5/16-18x1 grade 8 bolts due to the thicker diff cover versus OEM.

Awesome! I plan to do the same at some point.

You can get the Raptor R front cover for the official route. Some people have had success with various 8.8 covers though clearance is very limited. I do believe there are some aftermarket covers specifically for that application though. I have the R cover on my list of to-do's. Meant to get that done last weekend but got tied up with the transmission cooler mod I did. Link to the R cover below, you'll also need to get longer bolts, they're 5/16-18 thread and 1.41 inches long on the OEM one, but 1.25" long ARP ones are long enough. The OEM bolts are $18 each unfortunately.

Did you ever install the Raptor front cover? If so was there enough room to get the old one out and new cover in or did yiu have to drop the diff?

Sadly haven’t had the chance to do it yet. Hopefully this spring I’ll have more time to get to it, been a very hectic time

No worries. Post back when you do if it’s not too much trouble. I’m only at 20k miles but planning on picking up the diff covers at some point just so I have them on hand when I’m ready to do a fluid change. From what I read I think two of the top bolts cant be accessed with a socket and ratchet, it would be too long. You’d need a socket that has a hex end and not a 3/8 drive end. So you can get a wrench over the end of the socket. Good luck when you get around to it.

Something like this:
