FORScan Mods

Disregard my question....figured it out. Not sure how to do it IN FORScan, but you can do a soft reset of the radio which is the equivalent to resetting the APIM.

But, I didn't even have to do that. I let the truck sit all night and it reset itself. So, I no longer have the black box in the rear camera view.

Successfully made the following changes last night:

- Bambi Mode
- DRLs - including parking lights (rear tails come on with DRLs)
- Walk Away Lock
- Walk Away Lock Audible Feedback
- Turn Signals Flashes (changed to 5 flashes)
- Removed black box on reverse camera

Auto start/stop has already been disabled by other means.
Double Honk disabled through setting in my truck.
Seat belt reminder disabled by another hack.

- Probably going to do Global Windows Open/Close

That's about it for now.
Ok, then I need your help. I am hex illiterate and for the life of me am struggling to figure out the right hex to increase the turn signal flashes. What value did you use for 5 flashes?

Yeah, someone educated me it also, but I found an easy solution to it. Once you have connected to your truck and have FORScan up and running, click on the box third from the bottom to get to the Configuration and Programming tab as you normally would. BUT, instead of clicking on SCCM (AS Built Format), click on the one below that doesn't have (AS BUILT format). This page is MUCH easier to read than the other page where you have to change all the codes. On this page, go down and find it...you will see that it is set on 3....double click on it and change it to 5. Then save it by click on Write. That's it!! No codes or knowledge of hex necessary.

Does all that make sense?

100%. I didn't even think about using the non as-built one. I will use that one until I get my Ford Hex PhD. Maybe I'll get lucky and the hex code in the as-built will change accordingly when I change the non as-built one. :ROFLMAO:

Good point. Check this out...this where someone else was educating me on the hex system:

Yeah, I stumbled on a Bronco Sport Forum where they were trying to figure it out and that thread was completely useless.

So, it DOES change the as-built value when you change the non as-built. My original as-built was "8C".

Yeah, I kinda figured it out, but when I found the short cut, I was like...what the heck! LOL

On another note, so I tried to do the global open/close mod and it's not working. It'll open, which it always did, but I can't get it to close the window. Any ideas?

Did you enable the option in the APIM and also click the toggle over in the sync screen under settings for windows?

Going out on a limb but does anyone know if Forscan will run in a windows VM on linux? I don't have a windows laptop anymore but I do have it installed in a VM on linux (which is what I use to remote in to work on my laptop).

Cmon guys. Hex math is fun! Just count to 1F instead of 16!
🤬….As Tom Hanks said in the movie Road To Perdition, and I feel the same way…..”Math…I’ve always hated it”.

depends how its virtualized. the bigger issue is usually the usb driver/connection (part of the reason macos is a nogo)

typically yes its fine as long as usb plays nice and youre running intel/amd

If there is a way to default to sport mode in 2H I would love to know. I’m sure there isn’t. I get tired of having to turn the knob and then switch to 2 wheel drive in town.

I am pretty sure there is not. Driving in 4A is not gonna hurt your truck.
