Full Screen Apple CarPlay

Kind of, maybe… It took about a week but then yesterday I got an OTA update to 3.5.2. The release notes say it is a gateway to future updates. Picture attached. I messaged the Ford Tech and he said to give it a few more days to see if the rest of the updates come in. From this thread it sounds like I need to get to 3.5.3.2 for full screen CarPlay.

If not he said “I did talk to hotline and they always do a copy-paste and it said to come back in do a battery rest then Uninstall the program from Ford then reinstall it then use another computer to retry.”

That sounds like a mess So I’ll give it a week and then take it back in I guess. I did ensure the truck was connected to my wifi, I have an update schedule set for overnights, and I’m driving it daily. So I would think if the OTA updates are coming I’ll get them.

I hope it fixes it for you. Mines still not working correctly.

Got the update sometime yesterday. Still need to check out the CarPlay split version but not bad, just extended.

Definitely would be more useful if you had a jailbroken phone or a magic box.

How did you get the map to be 3d like that?

I ended up doing the double forced reboot method from YouTube yesterday and it was installed and ready this morning.

As others have stated, you need 3.5.3.2. I was stuck at 3.5.2 until I did the double reboot method:

I did not park it and walk away from it like he said, I drove it for an hour as I had things to do. But it pulled down an update while I was driving (little icon appeared near the Alexa circle at the top). It just didn’t install the update until my scheduled update time, which for me is overnight. Don’t trust what the truck says on the screen. It kept telling me it still only had 3.5.2, and even now while I obviously have it working the screen still reports the last update as 3.5.2. The Ford Pass app, however, reports that I’ve been updated to 3.5.3.2. I’m guessing the truck will eventually report it correctly.

I finally got the update on my 2023. I kept turning updates off for a day or so, and back on.

I just spoke with The Magic Box Rep and as of right now they do not have a Box that will show "Full Screen" on any 2023's
