How is everyone protecting their bed?

Talked to two Line-x places near me. One said they won’t sell the premium (UV protection) because he says he feels like it fades unevenly. If you go with the standard how bad is the fade over time?
No experience with the standard Line-X but I had the UV protection on my last F-150 and never experienced any fading over the course of 4+ years (without a tonneau or covered parking).

If it fades unevenly is that included in the lifetine warranty?

Yikes! I'd be going with another brand/shop for that price. It's all about the prep and installation anyway; the products themselves should all be comparable.
Going in for rhino-line between Christmas and New Years. They were $600.

Got Bullet Liner for $579. The guy was Line X for 13 years and then went Bullet. He like all the reviews I have read states Bullet Liner is superior in every way.

Hmmmm let me look into that one. Line-X wanted $950 around me. Thanks for the tip…

o_O Wow! I know Line-X prices can vary by region but that’s robbery! I’d suggest getting a quote from another shop in your area or just go with another product e.g. Bullet, Rhino etc.
Oh I am. That price was very much ‘wow’ and I requested the quote back in the beginning of October and received it at the end of November. I’m penciled in for Rhino at the moment at a shop that one of my clients recommends. But I’m going to look into bullet.

I should have provided further context, my apologies. I was quoted $790 here for Line X so roughly $200 cheaper. Lifetime warranty with Bullet as well and all the benefits of UV and fading resistant technologies. And before you ask, I do not work for nor have I received compensation for my statements. 😆

Nope, I appreciate the recommendation. The nearest bullet location to me is 70 miles away. Decisions… the rhino lining place says about 5 hours, which makes it convenient for me and my wife. I’m going to find out about the bullet location and see what they need. My work life has over-ridden my family life this year so I’m trying to maximize family time between the 23rd and 2nd.

The older I get the more I realize my time spent in doing what I want with whom I want is more important than an employer who will replace me tomorrow if I die.

I totally agree with that. This year has definitely been a challenge.

Edit: and according to my son, I’m older than dirt.

I got a weather tech bed mat. That works great for me.

Just picked up my new Iconic Silver Tremor and I’m enjoying all the posts about the upgrades that everyone is doing. I am very curious to understand how everyone is protecting their bed and why. Full spray in lining? Bed mat only? I rarely haul anything beyond a few bags of mulch or an occasional mountain bike myself so I’m not sure the expense of a bed liner is justified for me.
Rhino liner and I have a Diamondback cover on the way. I'm glad I did the spray-in liner. I'll never use this for gravel or other hard work but it's nice to know it's protected. Plus, I keep my vehicles for a long time. You're ownership may vary and this would be a consideration for me if I only planned on keeping it 4-5 years. Although, this' likely would be an item you could get your money back in a future sale.

My Linex Dealer is saying that there is 2 different linex products...1 that will fade to grey after time and an upgraded version that he's trying to push me towards. Anyone run into this?
Yes, when I was considering Linex there was two packages. one was $100 more and I believe there was something about a UV protectant. I wanted a less aggressive coating so I went with the Rhino which is more rubberized than sandpaperish.

Fortunately mine came with a bed liner!
Very convenient for sure. When I ordered mine they said this would delay the order. Plus, aftermarket liners generally have life-time warranties. Whereas, Ford only gives you 36 mo. I'm sure you'll not have any problems with the OEM liner though.
