Whether it goes into the intake or into this cup, doesn't the oil have to be topped off in time? Seems like guys are collecting a good amount of oil with these things.

It's a little more than oil so as long as you stick to normal oil change intervals it shouldn't be a big deal.

There is another PCV circuit on the drivers side some folks throw a catch can on as well. Sounds like that ones mostly for high boost scenarios (unsure of the mechanics of that) so if you plan on modding/hotrodding around I'd do both. Most folks should be fine with just the passenger though.
