Level and mpg?

Man thats even more not believable... The pedal commander easily takes away 1-2mpg depending on the mode you're in. Youre also on MT tires instead of AT, which are even worse for mpg.
Just saying… the eco mode on the pedal commander works. Makes it bit sluggish but… ok. I’ll see my way out.

I appreciate your humor. Seems like an odd thing to lie about being a grown man… but the internet is what it is.
Most men lie about 3 things.
1- The size of their Johnson
2- How many women they have slept with
3- How many MPG they get.

Is the 2021-2022 EcoBoost different? I have had 4 and they have all hated ethanol free gas. With a tune the more ethanol the better.

1.) it’s small
2.) probably like 9
3.) almost 20 mpg

I’ll give regular gas a try.. maybe I’ll get 30.

Commute to work this morning, very light traffic at 6AM departure, used eco mode and adaptive cruise (90% off highway, regular roads, 30-40MPH).

Didn't even know this fking thing went past 18, the speedometer recalibration and the cold air i take are working wonders so far.

Have a 9 hour trip to GA on Friday with 5 people in the truck and a couple hundred pounds in the bed, will report back.

One thing to remember here is that MPG is not linear, and honestly it's a very poor way to measure efficiency. GPM would be a much better metric to use. In other words, the drop from 20 to 19 MPG is a much smaller drop in efficiency than dropping from 15 to 14 MPG.

Interesting. I don't think I've thought of it this way but it makes sense. To take it to the extreme, going from 1mpg to 2mpg is double the mileage on a gallon.

The long trip will tell the truth. The DTE would be in the 600's. You still show 14-15 MPG outside the 13 mile drive.

More info though it should be considered that my speedo has not been calibrated to 35’s and I believe these numbers will improve once it is.
Took a 340mi trip today (170 each way) and drove with adaptive cruise 90% of the time. Mostly 55mph and 65mph highways with some small town stop and go mixed in.
Did the first leg in Normal and second in Eco.
Trip was on the Carolina coast so there is no elevation influence.
Seems eco mode gives a little improvement.

I have a 2" level and about 1300 miles on my 402a with stock rims and tires. First few hundred miles were terrible at about 14 mpg. Now getting about 18.5 mpg mix between highway and city. towing the boat i get 10.5-11 mpg. All in all, about what I expected and I love this truck.
You say you used a 2” level, which one? Everything I’m herring says no go on level… I bought a 2” ready lift which was going on my 22 f150 platinum but with the delay again, I opted for a tremor that came available. I also have ordered a 1/2” MoFab level that should allow me to stuff 295/70-18 Nitto Recon Grapplers in there without no rubbing… I hope. I have 75 miles on truck and already tearing into it geez

Just completed a 540 mile round trip in 1 day from Southeast Texas to Northeast Louisiana and back. Filled up before I left and filled up right after i got back. Averaged 18.3 MPG (hand calculated).

Truck has 2" Autospring Level, has Retrax Pro Aluminum Retractable Bed Cover, had 2 grown men @ prolly total of 450 lbs in it. Didn't baby it, ran 70-75 MPH where I could. Had a little over 4,000 miles on it before the trip.

Not bad I guess, but I wish it would have been closer to 19-20 MPG. It was 95% highway miles (allowing 5% for all the towns I had to drive through to get to my destination).

You’re still running stock tires though?

fuel? 100% gas or ethanol blend? 87 octane?

10% Ethanol Blend, 87 Octane
If you tried the same trip running 91-93 octane you would see an improvement on mileage. I realize it's hard to justify with current prices but in the long run it does come out cheaper.

Is that true? MPG is not linear, so it might take several mpg improvement to justify that extra 60¢ a gallon

I was referring for the year total not a tank total.

Well, in 14,000 miles here’s my experience running 91 octane, 10% ethanol driving in normal mode.

Stock: mid to high 18’s

Leveled with factory tires: high 17’s to low 18’s.

Leveled with 285/75 (34.8”x11.3”) Toyo AT3 10 plys: low to high 16’s.

The big and heavy E tires were harder on my mileage than the level.

After the first 100k miles in my 2015 ecoboost I switched from 87 to 91 octane. After doing this my mileage did increase but when I did my calculations I came up with 40 cents being the magic break even numbered in regards to cost difference/mileage increase. Around here 91 generally runs about 50 cents/gallon more so it ends up costing me a little more. With that said, I still run 91 because it does seem to run a little better and in my 2015 I had to replace every 02 sensor within the first 100k and I don’t recall having to replace another one for the last 95k. Did the 91 octane have anything to do with that? I honestly have no clue but I’ve convinced myself that it’s better so that’s what I’ve been using.

Earlier this year I whipped up a quick spreadsheet to show the cost / benefit of running different fuels vs. the MPG gains from it. Kind of funny (not) to look at the difference in fuel prices now.

There's some good chatter in the thread called "Dismal Fuel Economy" here: https://www.f150tremor.com/threads/dismal-fuel-economy.515/

If you want to give me some comparison data points, I can easily run a scenario for you if you can't. I'd need at least two data points - such as:
1) Fuel Type (octane, 100% gas or not, etc) and cost and then the resulting MPG
2) Fuel type and cost for 'better' fuel and the resulting (better) MPG

We can see how much it really costs you - if anything - to run the better fuel. This analysis won't take into account if your truck actually runs BETTER/STRONGER/CLEANER from higher octane fuel and whatever butt-o-meter joy you get from that.

For instance - if you look at this chart it's about $600 more expensive (over 100,000 miles) to run 91 octane and get 18mpg ($21,000) vs if you get 15mpg on regular 87 ($20,400). Is your difference that drastic? I don't know. And obviously fuel prices change (these were the going prices just 6 months ago).
