Launched in the rain but turned nice by sunset.
Yes sir, I'm out of Oregon and run it primarily in the Columbia river for salmon.Gotta be PNW? We don't see boats like that on the East Coast very much. At least not in the South
I have that same trolling motor on my 16' Santee and it has been a game changer. Spot lock keeps me stationary despite any wind or current. Plus being able to hit the creeks quietly and not scare the fish.Anyone else into boats? I picked up this J16 last weekend with a basically new Merc 40 CT (21 hours) for $5K. Needs some minor fiberglass repair but I can take care of that myself. I also ordered a Minn Kota Riptide Terrova 55#. Pretty excited about that, I-Pilot is supposed to be amazing.
That's awesome. I've lived in NC my whole life but spent summers as a kid fishing the Columbia. I have family that lives in The Dalles.Yes sir, I'm out of Oregon and run it primarily in the Columbia river for salmon.
Funny story, Cabelas actually sent me the 112# instead of the 55# I ordered. So I could damn near ski being that 16" skiff. But it's coming off and going on the Grady White this weekend.I have that same trolling motor on my 16' Santee and it has been a game changer. Are you winterizing? I’m on the lake year-round in CharlotteTaking in the last of the lake days. Just outside Raleigh, NC View attachment 6776
No. That’s one thing I love about the Yamaha. No need to winterize. But when the water cools the kids don’t care to go if they can’t board and tube… So I’ll go out a handful of time this fall and winter when the weather is nice! Also we spent a week at lake Norman for summer vacation this year and it was awesome. Been eyeing houses there and also lake Gaston. Are you winterizing? I’m on the lake year-round in Charlotte
Gaston is probably cheaper and closer for you. I grew up in Wake Forest so we went to Gaston a lot. I live on Wylie now so it’s as simple as pushing the switch on the lift when we get a nice day in FebruaryNo. That’s one thing I love about the Yamaha. No need to winterize.
