- 2022 3.5 Tremor Granger Ford
I ordered a pair of ICON 2.0 Rear Shocks (96518) to replace the stock ones straight after my drive back from Granger on Saturday.
Word is they're a couple of pool noodles with celery stick damper shafts. I drive aggressively on forest roads so no use waiting to upgrade for me.What’s wrong with the rear shocks? I’m coming from a 2004 f150FX.
I'm glad someone remembers. It’s about an inch shorter than our stock one. I installed anyway and fine so far lol

I think that's probably where I'll end up. It's annoying they don't post their measurements for extended and compressed.I ordered a pair of ICON 2.0 Rear Shocks (96518) to replace the stock ones straight after my drive back from Granger on Saturday.
I'm ordering a set of those as well.I ordered a pair of ICON 2.0 Rear Shocks (96518) to replace the stock ones straight after my drive back from Granger on Saturday.
Thanks for sharing, just ordered also. Will get them installed with the level and rims.I ordered a pair of ICON 2.0 Rear Shocks (96518) to replace the stock ones straight after my drive back from Granger on Saturday.
Thanks for the update. It's funny that the number of calls I've had with both Eibach and Icon neither mentioned the rear being too short. Both were when i specifically gave them the length of my OE shock. If they would publish their extended and compressed lengths, that would not be a problem. It seems that when you mention an actual measurement, they clam up saying "we don't publish our measurements"I was in FourWheel parts today and they called Icon and Eibach and both companies said their travel appears to be too short and they will offer no warranty if they are installed. So FourWheel did not want to install anything as there would be no warranty. I was listening on the speakerphone when they called both companies, so I know they were being honest about it.
I'll double check but I think it's 30"Bummer! @steamboatdevil I'll measure the Icons on Monday, heard they come extended. Do we know the stock Tremor rear shock extended length?
Someone should tell stage 3 then.I was in FourWheel parts today and they called Icon and Eibach and both companies said their travel appears to be too short and they will offer no warranty if they are installed. I'd go with jacking up under the rear differential. That would let all the rear suspension fully extend. Is there a safe rear jack point I could use to confirm that the shock bottoms out before the leaf springs fully extend? At this point it wouldn't surprise me if Ford slapped longer shocks in than needed anyway because "fuck you" seems to be their guiding principal in Tremor development.
Again, 4WP, terrible company. The icons say they fit a 2" lift and the tremor is 1" lift over regular afaik, should fit. Let you know when I install next week.I was in FourWheel parts today and they called Icon and Eibach and both companies said their travel appears to be too short and they will offer no warranty if they are installed. I agree they may be horrible.. but I heard the ICON guy with my own ears say you can put it on but we will not warranty them as they are too short. Sounds like they will be fine.Again, 4WP, terrible company. The icons say they fit a 2" lift and the tremor is 1" lift over regular afaik, should fit. Let you know when I install next week.
