Tremor Rear Shock Options

I agree they may be horrible.. but I heard the ICON guy with my own ears say you can put it on but we will not warranty them as they are too short. Sounds like they will be fine.

He then went on to say it would be 5-8 months before they did something for the Tremor. Maybe the ICON guy is clueless too.
Idk, I'll take what's in writing on the website Q&A versus the guy answering the phone tbh. Dont think I'll ever get to full extension anyways, and I'm starting to think that there won't ever be tremor specific suspensions - it's just going to come out that most suspensions already work on the tremor and these companies just haven't tested them so that's why they keep saying it doesn't work.

Funny, we're all clueless, some of us pretend, better.

We asked them that too.. they said that's a reseller, not IKON.

Interesting.

One of the other answers says it's 28", and the tremor one is 30". As someone said above, I wonder if you actually need the 30" if this is made for a 2" lift and it's 28", and the Eibach is 29"?

Between the orange variations, the rear shocks, the towing packages - the tremor is one big mystery.

Icon 2.0 are a hair under 28.5" center of eye to eye. The shock has 11.3" of travel.

That's slightly more travel and 2 inches shorter. Maybe you're right, a one inch block and don't go too crazy fast off road.

That would be a 1" block in addition to stock?

Also interesting that they are shorter but have more travel, so ultimately could mean they work fine as well in that sense. 4WP said 9" of travel needed according to another poster and these have 11". Maybe the 30" stock isn't necessary did the travel is enough?

I still plan to get them installed on Friday with the AS 2.5" Level

Yeti is referencing removal of stock 2.25" block (I measured earlier) and installing 1" block.

If I find time, I'm going to try lifting rear of truck or driving up ramp till rear wheel lifts this week to measure length of stock shock at full droop.

If the shock body is to short it could cause serious issues, over extending. The travel is good but I agree you would have to shorten the blocks in the back. Fox has some and Bilstein I think have some that would work as well, neither say Tremor but being universal fit if they are the right length and travel they will work, however I would not get one that wasn't adjustable because it's not specifically made for the truck.

Yeah, it's all about the measurements. Fox does give measurements but eibach, Icon and (I think) Bilstein, don't. Personally, I want a digressive shock so it's bilstein, icon or eibach, for me. The Fox DSC would work but $$$ for something I would never make full use of.

Not sure if this is known but I found this. Can't find the specs but at least there is a part number.

I might return the icons then. With the 2.5" level up front, if I reduce to a 1" block in the back, it may be too level and actually be higher in the front with anything in the bed, which I commonly have and don't want to happen. I wanted to leave an inch or two of rake.

I'll recheck the compressed length of our OEs, tomorrow.
This version of Fox are
  • Extended length: 31"
  • Collapsed length: 18.2"
If the compressed length is reasonably similar, that could be a great option for a bunch of people.
Our stock shocks are
Extended length: 30.5"
Collapsed length: 18" maybe 18.1"

I'm guessing the bump stop will fully engage at max load before 18.1"

So Fox part number 98224828
Should be good for a progressive shock with a stock rear

Thank you sir. I may have to make a purchase

I have Fox on my '17 in the rear and my plan was to do them again on the Tremor. This thread has been great in getting verified info when it comes to measurements and what will fit.

I went ahead and purchased the Fox 98224828. Pick up the truck Thursday and make the drive back home. Sunday would be the earliest I could install if they arrive by then. Will definitely update after installation.
