Tremor Rear Shock Options

The Fox rear shocks feel really good so far. Gonna pick up hay this weekend so I’ll get a test with 6000 lbs. The fronts feel good but something about 2.75” that seems excessive. Getting new tires on Monday and going down one notch on the snap ring. if my math is right it should be at 2” +/- .10”
Did some measurements this morning cause it looked a little more settled. I’m getting a hair less than 41” or 2.25” lift now. Didn’t think factory springs needed settling but I guess they do. CV, tie rod and UCA look better.

Has anyone had experience on washboard roads after replacing their rear shocks.? Did you see an improvement, or does the truck still float around like its on ice? A lot of my adventures are out west on dirt roads and it can be an adventure keeping the going straight down the road.

About 500 miles worth using the Bilstein and eibachs. Both perform substantially better than our stock rears

How did the rears respond to the weight and such? Have you tested any offroad?
Haven’t towed with them yet but feel good with about 200 lbs in the bed. Haven’t off-roaded yet. Was gonna try a few areas at the back of my property that should get full flex. Only rough stuff of note was my kids daycare has a really jarring entrance from the highway and it eats it up pretty easily. Gonna get Ridge Grapplers on Monday so I’ll see if a 10 ply changes the ride a lot.

Towed an empty 2500 lbs trailer and then it full at about 6000 lbs total. The sag was about the same but rear felt more controlled on dips and RR crossings. Not sure I could find a better option within Tremor specs except maybe the adjustable version (985-26-054)

Lowered the front struts one notch which is what Fox recommends and it feels way better. The shop that installed it said my measurements were off since my driveway is sloped a little. They said the top notch gained 2 5/8 inches and the second to top notch gained 1 7/8 inches. Sorry for the bad measurements in the earlier post. I checked on flat ground and I show 2 inches as well at the second to top notch.

@johncode,

Looking forward to your review after some off-roading, wash board roads, etc.. I’m wanting to to loose the AS 2.5’s and run Fox up front to match my rears. 🍻

So far with the Fox fronts and rears:

-Changing the factory tires to LT/10 ply is hardly noticeable. This wasn’t the case when I’ve gone to LT tires on previous trucks (Trail Boss and Rebel with air suspension).

-Handling on curves and higher speeds(70-90 mph) feels more controlled. Less body roll.

-Gravel driveway with several pot holes at 20-30 mph is less jostley.

-The buckles on my kids car seats are less noisy compared to stock. Less clank.

I haven’t tested any flexing with all the Halloween crap for the kids the past few weekends though.

The best way I could probably describe them so far is better absorbing and more controlled. I wouldn’t describe them as stiff or firm as others have described for theirs.

A good analogy could be mattresses:

The factory are like an old school spring mattress. Comfortable, can be bouncy and the corners are weak.

The Fox are like a hybrid mattress spring/foam. Very comfortable, not as bouncy and stronger corners.

John,
Thank you sir, that helps a lot & I appreciate the picture.
From the picture it looks like your truck still has 1.5 to 2” of rake?

It’s around 2”. Less if parked uphill and more if downhill.

I may have missed it but could you post the part numbers you installed?
