What's new

Tremor Rear Shock Options

The original ones had 700 pound springs which were a bit much even for my extra 400 pounds on the front. I have the 600 pound eibachs ready to go on to my fronts so that 550 should be perfect for normal Tremors
I wish they offered a 600 I think that would be perfect

What does the eibach ship with? Someone told me 450 but I don’t know why
I can check tomorrow but I think 600. that is before their new offering though. I would imagine even thr pro 2 are 600 pound. it should say in the details.

I have a 2023 402A. I upgraded the fronts to a Level Coilover kit (M1 monotube) from Rough Country. They include the rear block at 1". It rides great and vehicle is level. I do have a Travel Trailer that I haven't hook up yet but will be driving maybe 8 times a year. Max weight would be 5900 lbs. I do have a Equal-i-zer Sway control/weight distribution hitch rated at 10k. On the first trip I want to test it out to see if the hitch will do the trick with load leveling and not have the nose up. My question is: Do I just upgrade the rear shocks? Which one would be better for towing? (Bilstein 5100, Eichbach, Ella, Fox?) or do I get a HD Road Active Suspension RAS? I do want to maintain the level look as much as possible when not hooked but 1 inch rake is not a big deal. Thank you for your input

Spring Mods continue ~ installed the Fox SVT rear shocks. Damn !! These are beefy compared to the stock Tremor Shocks. Only have 3800 miles on the trem. Easy install, 4 bolts, 2 beers 🍻, torqued to 66 ft/lbs and under an hour. The fox shocks added about a 1 -1/4" inch of height to the rear. Def glad i added the leveling kit. Last pic also includes the Raptor Take - offs I picked up that will go on next. Need to thoroughly clean them and add the duracoating before swapping them out.

What do you mean added 1 1/4" to the rear???

Are you saying the Shocks lifted the rear of the Truck?

Yes ~ lifted the rear 1 1/4" over the stock tremor shocks.

Can you please measure again in a few hundred miles, preferably after a bit of weight has been in the bed?

Interesting??? Nothing else was changed?

Shocks are not supposed to lift your truck.
This was right after install. I am sure there may be some settling. I will repost any results after some use and loads in the bed.

Any help on this guys?

I noticed my rear end sat higher after installing my Icon shocks but they settled over time and now sit at Tremor OEM height. That with roughly 400 lbs in the bed.

I would upgrade the shocks, I went with the Fox SVT's and then consider the Firestone or Airlift bags. I just installed my shocks yesterday, but shopping for a trailer before I install the airbags. Have had the airlift bags in previous trucks and like that you can adjust based on the the load / towing. My 2 Cents.

This is information from another towing thread.

‘23 Tremor, 2” ReadyLift level, stock rear, about 1 1/2” taller in rear unloaded.
Pulling a 26’ TT (dry 4,700 / loaded 7,000) Curt 2P LL Hitch rated at 10,000 lbs. / 1,000 tongue weight. Trailer is about 650 Tongue weight loaded.
Changed out rear shocks to Bilstien 5100 (2” over stock).
Running almost completely level when towing.
No issues at all and truck pulls it well with no sway.
Just pulled from Florida to New Mexico, lots of wind in west Texas on I-10. You can tell there is wind blowing, but never any feeling of loss of control.

Hope this helps

Thank you ! Yes will consider focusing on getting some good rear shocks instead of getting the RAS. So then between Bilstein 5100, Bilstein 5160 (with reservoir) or Eiback Pro truck. I am not going to be doing extreme off road which some other shocks come into play. Thanks for the help!

No difference from 5100 to 5160 except the resi's which are for cooling. If you're staying on the road just go with the 5100's.

Can you folks confirm if these 5165's would be ok for the rear with the stock setup? Based on everything that I read in the thread looks like they would be suffice, but would like for one of the suspension guru's to confirm. This would just be for everyday driving with rare heavy loads (under 500lbs) in the bed only a few times a year. Looking for something better and more firm that the stock rear shocks. TIA.

Hey. The 5165 would be an overkill with the reservoir and for what you are describing. Unless you use it for off roading a lot. Just go with the B8 5100. I just found out the part for mine and its 33-253190. They are $112 each on good websites. Labor should be no more than 2 hrs. I went with the 5100 because I will be towing a travel trailer several times a year. And if I take it off roading it will not be anything crazy. From the research I did the 5100 would do great.

I agree with black Mamba. My use is similar to yours and I also tow a Travel Trailer that maxes out at about 7,000 lbs.
The 5100’s are reasonably priced, are slightly firmer than stock, damper much better than stock, and definitely work well without being too firm.

I have had the 5100's for about 9 months now and haven't noticed any significant difference from stock. Towed a 5000lb trailer from CO to WA through mountains and the bed sat down about 1-2" with the trailer but the drive was easy.

I'll report how they do. I am installing it Thursday and going on a 4 1/2 hr trip with my TT Friday. My TT without water is around 5400 lbs. I do have a RAS HD Installed and I would strongly recommend that to anyone. I have already towed with it and the truck handles great and little sagging on the back. It changes the ride for the better when not towing; It handles awesome. I am excited to be changing now to 5100 on the rears and hoping I am covered on all bases. When I tow I tow with a Equalizer 10k hitch that does load leveling.
