Tremor Rear Shock Options

Pretty sure he is running all of this, which out of my ballpark
You may be correct now, originally though he did have the other kit, it was talked about in one of Tremor trails videos, their are a few on here who have the kit you are talking about if you search out the Halo lift page, maybe you can find someone and send them a PM, either the Halo lift or the Eibach's would definitely be the choice I would make, if Bilstein made one that gave just a tad more lift I would consider it possibly. My experience with Eibach has been great in the past, I don't find them to stiff at all, even when almost maxed out. If that is a concern you can contact them and order thru them and they will spec a lighter spring rate if that would be something you wanted .

halo/elka apparently came out with softer spring rate not too long ago. So I think many folks running those have the early ones, I tested the owners rig a year ago, and it was not what I wanted. Shock Surplus puts eibach in the middle of fox and Bilstein for stiffness in general.

Anyone out there upgrade just the front and leave your rear stock? Looking at Fox 2.5 Performance Elite up front and rear stock until Fox releases rear options.

If you've already upgraded the fronts, I guess the only reason you wouldn't do the rears is because there is no matching option, like in your case. I haven't read of anyone doing just the fronts until just now when you posted. The rears are so much easier than the fronts to install. That's why I've held out on picking a front option. I've been running Elka 2.5 DC's in the back with stock fronts for a while. They almost feel like they're a matching set if you adjust the rears, properly. Rides and handles great.

The adjustability on the Elka's is awesome. But now I'm debating if I should ditch them and go with an electronically adjustable setup from SDI and their E-Clik options. I just like fine tuning and tinkering too much. But the cost is scaring me!

I actually have those fronts arriving tomorrow, unbeatable price from ajusa.com, but i did put the fox/bds 2.0 (see pg5 of this thread) on rear when i bought my truck. I HIGHLY recommend replacing the rear even if on temporary basis, it only cost me $400 as well.

I dont see Fox ever releasing a rear specific for the Tremor.

My rears were trash at 28,000 miles.

I think most folks would replace them if they knew how crappy they were.

It’s nothing new from ford - or any manufacturer- to put sub par components in a higher trim level truck. But it’s easily remedied.

IMO new rears is probably more important than new fronts. Takes the float out of these trucks while maintaining ride quality

I took my stock rears off with 18K on them this past weekend. Stock shocks are absolute garbage. I could easily compress them with just my two hands with little, to no effort. The Elkas I put on I had to lean on top of between me and the ground to compress to get a strap on them so I could install them. MUCH better ride.

Yep. Garbage rear shocks. Its a shame.

Just replaced my rear shocks with Bilstein 5100. As other have stated, Factory Shocks are extremely easy to compress after only 9,000 miles.
Gonna see if the Bilsteins make a difference when towing. Factory Shocks had a good deal of bounce and were slow to dampen dips in the road.

Question on the Eibach rear reservoir shocks. Eibach’s website doesn’t list the Tremor as compatible with these shocks (they don’t exclude it either). I called Eibach twice, the first person couldn’t confirm compatibility, the second person said the shocks were a couple of millimeters shorter than stock. Wondering if anyone can confirm or deny the difference in length and if there is any concerns?

This seem like an excellent alternative to the stock rear shocks and I want to be sure I am not missing something on compatibility.

No clue on length, but install and performance has been perfect

A few mm isn’t going to make a difference

If I remember they are just under a half inch shorter than factory but the travel is the same from what I've seen unless your jumping it a lot it isn't gonna matter much on that, now if they were 3/4" of inch or more I would not even attempt them.

This is correct. When I put mine on, with the suspension at full drop, I still had to push them up into the bottom mount.

I have a new set of the ELKA/halo stage 3 post recall. They have the 550 lbs springs just like the fox 2.5 race series. I am still evaluating them and dialing them in but so far I am pleased. They are a lot better that the ones with the 650 lbs springs for what we have here in Tennessee

The original ones had 700 pound springs which were a bit much even for my extra 400 pounds on the front. I have the 600 pound eibachs ready to go on to my fronts so that 550 should be perfect for normal Tremors

What does the eibach ship with? Someone told me 450 but I don’t know why
