VIN#'s and Build Dates

It’s not even done at the factory, they are sent off site. It’s just a thinner version of Line-X (or so I’ve heard). Since it delays the order, I’ll have mine LineXed after delivery. Also you then get a lifetime warranty vs the 30k Ford warranty, no brainer for me.

Interesting - I did not know that. I went back to the Fairway Ford Ohio site and none of the Tremors they just received have the factory spray in liner so you must be right about the delay since all those trucks had a blend date after mine.

My sales guy told me to not order the spray in from Ford. It makes the build more complicated therefore taking longer for production. (In general he recommended make it as simple as possible with only the options we needed Ford to install) And when they do the factory spray in he said they spray over all the bolts and don't disassemble it first. The dealership does the spray in and will take it apart so that every piece is sprayed separately and then reassembled.

I ordered 11/11/21 and mine is in production with a delivery date 5/1 that hasn’t moved in weeks. I’m getting kinda tired of Ford. First my Bronco and now Tremor. Building new units for dealership lots at the expense of trucks that have been ordered. I’m gonna guess that Ford is punishing Granger orders again. Wow, I’m a conspiracy guy this morning! May need more coffee.

Did anyone get their VIN#/build date today? I'm a little over a month past the order date, and I know for a lot of people that was the sweet spot for getting theirs. I haven't gotten mine yet, so I'm just trying to see if build dates/VIN#'s are still going out or if chip delays are also delaying every other part of the process.

In 3 days it will be 2 months since my order got put in the system and I don’t have a VIN, build date or anything yet.. just excuses.

Almost exactly where I am, ordered December 23rd, confirmed the 27th. Nothing from Ford besides the confirmation. Dealer hasn't heard anything either. I know there are at least a few more out there who ordered a few weeks before me and have heard absolutely nothing as well. There's also a lot who have ordered more recently who already have build dates. Total crapshoot.

Are F-250s still being scheduled? I got a 2022 SD last year, but sold our boat so don’t need diesel anymore. If the shortage continues the SD will hold its value (I hope).

Not sure on that. In December my dealer said most of the delays (not chip related) they had seen were for Platinum/King Ranch F150's and Superduty's.

Every Thursday I get hopeful that I will get my VIN and build date...and then I get disappointed when it inevitably doesn't happen haha.

Buck up! Ive been there, and I know, this sucks.
Its so dumb that we all have to wait for so long, but man once you have it, that all just becomes a bad memory.
Its worth it.
